Brilliant Event Tasks
To prepare for the second set of tasks, do not visit the Brilliant Registry Page until you reach that step! Also, stop returning Brilliant Foundables once you reach 19 of any. Once you reach 20, you’re automatically taken to the Brilliant Registry Page, which you do not want. If you forget, you can force close the app to avoid collecting any Brilliant Runestones.
To prepare for the third set of tasks, you have a few options. You can rent a Gold Cauldron and queue up 4 Potions. After you finish the first set of tasks, you can queue up 3 more Potions in your regular Cauldron. Wait until you reach the third quest to collect all of these.
If you don’t want to spend Gold, just queue up Potions in your regular Cauldron.
A Weasley Predicament Quest 1/4
Pretty standard tasks. Requiring Master Notes is a slowdown task, but at least it’s only 2 times. Brew Healing Potions and/or Exstimulo Potions to do this more quickly.
Use a Tonic for Trace Detection, plus walk around if you’re able, to find Brilliant Weasley Clock Traces.
Collect Ingredients or Portmanteaus 3 Times from the Map | 6 Abraxan Hair |

A Weasley Predicament Quest 2/4
Try to find Foundables that require Aguamenti in order to do the Greats.
Use a Tonic for Trace Detection, plus walk around if you’re able, to find Foundables guarded by Gnome Confoundables. These are all the boosted Foundables.
Visit the Brilliant Registry to collect Brilliant Runestones. This is a good time to open any Brilliant Portkeys, either leftover from the first week, or that you’ve already walked off from this week. If you need more Brilliant Family XP, do Wizarding Challenges with a Brilliant Runestone. You can also go ahead and place any Brilliant Images that you have ready.

A Weasley Predicament BONUS Assignment!
Formidable Foes have 2 stars. You can find these in the Tower Chambers rather easily.
Use Tonic for Trace Detection, plus walk around as able, to find Brilliant Traces. You will also find Foundables guarded by Gnome Confoundables.
To earn 12,500 Wizarding XP quickly, once again, drink a Brain Elixir. Use your Trace Charm on every red beam (Severe and Emergency Traces). If you can visit an Inn safely, stack Dark Detectors to attract a greater amount of high-threat Traces. Wait until you’re on the Bonus Assignment to open 20 Gifts, prioritizing any Extravagant Gifts and others with high Wizarding XP. Honestly, I can get the 12,500 Wizarding XP with a Brain Elixir and just a handful of Extravagant Gifts.
Any Potions will count. Use Potions as you normally would, and see if that comes to 15.

Tips to Complete the Brilliant Event
If this is your first Brilliant Event, these tips will help you complete the Brilliant Event before the time runs out. With careful planning, you can complete the Bonus Assignment as well!
- If you are below level 20 in Wizards Unite, you might want to use Exstimulo Potions on the Brilliant Foundables. Otherwise they will use a lot of Spell Energy to return, because they resist.
- As a reminder, Part 1 Portkeys will give you Part 1 Rewards anytime you open them, even if you wait to open them during Part 2. Brilliant Portkeys will glow purple on the Map. Be sure to pick up 5 Brilliant Portkeys during the Brilliant Event, even if you don’t open them all during the event.
- If you are nervous about finding time to walk the Brilliant Portkeys, you can also earn the necessary Foundable Fragments by completing the Bonus Assignment.
- To find Brilliant Molly Weasley, you must do Wizarding Challenges with the specific Brilliant Event Runestones. This is an event task, so wait until that step to work on it. To minimize your usage of Spell Energy, stick with Ruins IV-V Chambers. It might take a few extra Wizarding Challenges to get the 3 Fragments you need, but you’ll be able to do so quickly, without expending too many resources. If you’re low on Runestones, try Tower I-II Chambers to improve your odds of earning the required Fragments.
- If you decide to visit Inns, Fortresses, or Greenhouses during this event, continue to practice social distancing. Check out our previous article on staying safe while playing Wizards Unite.
- Save your Scrolls and your Restricted Section Books until the end of the event. Then use our guide to spend them wisely! That said, most Aurors and Magizoologists have already earned all the necessary Restricted Section Books, and many Professors have also done so. At this point, you can invest your resources in Advanced Adversarial Combat, you can start working on a second profession, or you can invest in SOS Training. That is a personal decision, so good luck!
Brilliant Event Bundles
There are 4 bundles total that will be available during this event. Be sure to snag the Free Bundle as soon as the event starts! The Bonus Bundle will not be available until the Bonus Assignment is unlocked, so keep that in mind.
First up, the SOS Bundle! This bundle keeps appearing in Brilliant Events: 5 Silver Keys and 100 Spell Energy for 450 Gold. I’m going to use the same math because it hasn’t changed either.
You can buy 10 Silver Keys for 720 Gold, making the individual value of each Silver Key 72 Gold. 5 Silver Keys are thus worth 360 Gold. If you only need Silver Keys, the SOS Bundle is not a good value.
100 Spell Energy costs 200 Gold, bringing the bundle value up to 560 Gold, a savings of 110 Gold. This bundle is only valuable if you need discounted Spell Energy (which you might after Community Day).
Next up, the Brilliant Bundle! For 800 Gold, you get:
- 4 Baruffio’s Brain Elixirs
- 6 Potent Exstimulo Potions
- 3 Tonics for Trace Detection
- 30 Spell Energy
A single Baruffio’s Brain Elixir costs 100 Gold in Diagon Alley. However, if you just need to buy the rare Ingredients, it’s a better deal to spend 20 Gold for 1 Dragon Claw and 12 Gold for 2 Toadstools, use Master Notes in the Cauldron, and then collect the Potion immediately for 62 Gold. So let’s put the value of Brain Elixirs at 94 Gold.
Thus 4 Brain Elixirs are worth 376 Gold.
A single Potent Exstimulo Potion in Diagon Alley costs 75 Gold. However, if you have all of the common Ingredients, it’s a better deal to buy 1 Unicorn Hair for 30 Gold, use Master Notes in the Cauldron, and then collect the Potion immediately for 41 Gold. So let’s put the value of Potent Exstimulo Potions at 71 Gold.
Thus 6 Potent Potions cost 426 Gold.
A single Tonic for Trace Detection in Diagon Alley costs 60 Gold. However, you can also buy 4 for 220 Gold, so the individual value is 55 Gold.
Thus 3 Tonics are worth 165 Gold.
Before Spell Energy, this bundle is worth 967 Gold, a savings of 167 Gold! If you don’t need the Tonics, it’s still worth 802 Gold. While Level 60 players won’t benefit from the Brain Elixirs, most other players can appreciate this bundle.
Unfortunately, this bundle isn’t as good as the similar one offered during the second part of The New Marauders Brilliant Event, which offered 7 Potent Exstimulo Potions.
Finally, the Bonus Assignment Bundle! For 2100 Gold, you get:
- 6 Tonics for Trace Detection
- 12 Strong Exstimulo Potions
- 10 Potent Exstimulo Potions
- 5 Silver Keys
- 150 Spell Energy
6 Tonics are worth 330 Gold.
10 Potent Potions are worth 710 Gold.
5 Silver Keys are worth 360 Gold.
If you only need these resources, this bundle is worth just 1400 Gold.
Normally, I don’t advise buying Strong Exstimulo Potions because the Ingredients are fairly common. However, this Brilliant Event begins shortly after the Adversaries Event ends, so players will need to replenish their Potions.
Looking at just Ingredients, it’s 3 Gold each per Snowdrop, Bitterroot, and Re’em Blood, plus 12 Gold for Abraxan Hair, so 36 Gold per Strong Exstimulo Potion.
Thus 12 Strong Potions are worth 432 Gold.
But this only brings the bundle value up to 1832 Gold, still short of the 2100 Gold price tag. This bundle is barely worth it even if you need discounted Spell Energy.
Final Brilliant Event Notes
Reminder! This Brilliant Event will run Monday to Monday.
I am visiting my family this weekend, so I am not writing a Speed Run guide. If any of the writing team is available to write one, I am happy to edit a guide over the weekend.

I’m pretty sure I’m going to get stuck on Masterful Flippendo.
Merlin’s beard, I got them! If I can get them, so can you. 🙂 Good luck everyone!
I have been playing for a little over one year and have taught my adult son who is on the ASD spectrum how to play. He was doing really well and found so much confidence in being to complete a few of the brilliant events. That has now been lost. Because of these skill based quests have become necessary, he gets frustrated not being able to cast great and masterful spells and is losing interest in the game that he used to love ( he also loves anything Harry Potter and has every lego set to prove it!). Wizards Unite… Read more »

Cheri, if you can figure out a way to send me your son’s Friend Code, I will add him to the Friends lists in all four of my family’s accounts and we will send him potion gifts every day to keep him interested in the game. We live near Greenhouses so it’s a small effort. No need to send anything back.
Two Masterful Flippendo? Wish it were Aguamente or Metelojinx Recanto
or Ebublio
Please clarify the gifts? I always read that on the guides, but am confused on what those equate to?
If someone sends you an Extravagant Gift, that rewards more Wizarding XP when you open it, compared to just Runestone Gifts, Ingredient Gifts, and Spell Energy Gifts. For example: Extravagant Spell Energy Gifts, Extravagant Runestone Gifts, Gold Gifts, Baruffio’s Brain Elixir Gifts, Wizard XP Gifts. These all give very high Wizarding XP.
In other words “Robert, you need to have friends on Wizards Unite and stop playing alone” LOL Also, Masterful Flipendo is bogus. I’m lucky if I get one in a month. Sheesh!!
One oddity is when doing trace charms on the map, you collect two of every item, including brilliants. However it shows as only one on the task list. So if I manage to get 12 brilliants on the map, I actually get 24 brilliants and I’m forced to go to the registry page, and collects the ruin stones before I want to collect them. Meanwhile I just end up meeting the task requirement.
Put the masterful in the bonus, not the main.
That one seems confusing. With the trace charm, you collect one of each, plus bonus fragments. The bonus fragments don’t count as collecting more foundables. They only count for the registry.
part two is 15 great spellcasts, not 2.
Cast 2 Masterful Flippendo Spells. That’s funny. Guess I’ll just stop playing this event at that point.
So true. Super frustrating. Think I might have gotten a masterful flippendo once or twice ever.
The key thing to remember when it comes to great and masterful casts is that the game mechanics favor SPEED over ACCURACY to an incredible extent. You can cast a really sloppy flippendo (as long as it still improves the score) and still get masterful if you do it fast enough.
I have never been able to do a Masterful Flippendo, so I can’t see that happening in the next week.
I found a trick for the masterful flippendo (and I just posted this in the Niantic feedback forum). My screen guard came with a cheap little metal pen with a rubber tip. I placed the phone on a flat surface and practiced doing flippendos with this little pen, and I did a few GREAT flippendos which were almost impossible for me with my finger (I’m a lefty if that matters)…. and then to my surprise I DID A MASTERFUL FLIPPENDO! My first. Ever. Of course, the game is supposed to be mobile, and this is NOT a mobile solution. If… Read more »
Any tricks on getting a masterful cast on Flippendo? I have tried using a potion and can get a great… never a masterful
Potions won’t help, that only makes it easier for your spell to result in a successful return. Masterful means specifically having the sliding pointer end in the rightmost segment of the score bar thingy, regardless of what color it is. Based on my limited experience watching players get frustrated in person, you’re probably trying too hard to be accurate – slow and steady won’t win this race, only speed is king. Flippendo (and Aguamenti) are probably the only spells where this is true since they have minimal direction changes, but if you go very fast and are just accurate enough… Read more »
Ok, I ended up getting three masterfuls during the fourth task. All three were on Luna. Not sure what helped. Only thing left is enough challenge xp to finish off the 4th task. Really difficult and a few tonics to get the masterfuls.
So the square root trick does work to get the masterful casts. It took me hundreds of tries but I finally got them. Do a checkmark then cut straight across to the right at the top. Do this AS FAST AS YOU CAN! Speed is the key. Good luck everyone – it really is frustrating.
I enjoyed the storyline of this event. It makes the tasks worthwhile.
