The Harry Potter series takes a dark turn starting in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Considering the ending dialogue of the last Brilliant Event was also fairly dark, I expect this tone to continue. It’s amazing how much the storyline in Harry Potter: Wizards Unite has evolved over the last 2 years!
While Ron recovers his memories of his fourth year at Hogwarts, the team pores over Gareth’s journals for information on The Unforgivable. What will they learn about the shadowy organisation and its mysterious leader?
Into the Fire Brilliant Event Part 1 will be September 20-27, 2021.
Note: Thank you Niantic and WB Games for providing this information early so Wizards Unite Hub could create this event guide.
Quick note! Due to player feedback, we have moved the Brilliant Event preparation tips to the end of the article. If you’re a new player, be sure to read that section.
Into the Fire Brilliant Event Part 1 Guide
Like most Wizards Unite events, this Brilliant Event has been adapted so you can play at home. Stay safe! Follow local rules and regulations, and be respectful of other people and your surroundings.
As a reminder, Part 1 Portkeys will give you Part 1 rewards anytime you open them, even if you wait to open them during Part 2. Keep an eye out for the Bonus Assignment that will be available to complete after the main tasks have been accomplished!
Part 1 Portkeys will return to the Quidditch Changing Rooms, which we haven’t seen in many months.
Also, the Portkey Image is a Brilliant Portkey, which I LOVE. A little cheeky while still true to the Goblet of Fire story.

Brilliant Event Tasks
Nothing is too original in the tasks, so returning players already know the best strategies.
The first quest requires doing Master Notes. You can start brewing a Potion before the Brilliant Event begins, but wait to use Master Notes. Then you can collect it quickly and do Master Notes on the next Potion.
The third quest includes brewing Potions. After completing the Master Notes for the first quest, don’t collect your Potions. Wait until the third quest begins to collect your Potions.
You also collect Brilliant Runestones during the third quest. To do this quickly, do NOT visit the Brilliant Registry until you reach this quest!
Additionally, stop returning Brilliant Foundables if you reach 19 of either while doing the first two quests. Once you reach 20, you’re automatically taken to the Brilliant Registry Page, which you do not want. If you forget, you can force close the app to avoid collecting any Brilliant Runestones.
For the Bonus Assignment, you need to place Images in the Brilliant Registry. To do this quickly, wait until the Bonus Assignment is live before you place any Images. Of course, if you have plentiful access to Brilliant Traces, but the other tasks are slowing you down, you might choose to place the Brilliant Images multiple times.
Into the Fire Quest 1/4
Collecting Ingredients, Portmanteaus, Spell Energy, or Seeds is pretty straightforward.
To use Master Notes quickly, brew short Potions. You can also spend Gold on a Rental Cauldron, or to collect 1 Potion immediately. See the tips above about timing the first Potion just right.
Use a Tonic for Trace Detection to find enough Brilliant Traces.
|Collect 3 Ingredients or Portmanteaus on the Map||2 Abraxan Hair|
|Use Master Notes 2 Times||1 Powdered Dragon Claw|
|Return 12 Brilliant Omnioculars Foundables||2 Healing Potions|
1st Quest Rewards
- 550 Wizarding XP
- 2 Restricted Section Books
- 50 Brilliant Family XP
- 10 Spell Energy
Into the Fire Quest 2/4
These tasks go together quite nicely. Tonic for Trace Detection should help you find the the Quidditch Fans and the Brilliant Traces. 3 of the boosted Foundables this week are Quidditch Fans. Any will count for that task.
|Return 15 Quidditch Fans||1 Unicorn Hair|
|Use Tonic for Trace Detection 2 Times||2 Exstimulo Potions|
|Return 12 Brilliant Quidditch World Cup Foundables||6 Snowdrop|
2nd Quest Rewards
- 750 Wizarding XP
- 75 Brilliant Family XP
- 3 Restricted Section Books
- 10 Spell Energy
Into the Fire Quest 3/4
As already mentioned, you can brew these Potions in advance. When you collect them, you get credit for the task. If you want 5 Potions ready to collect immediately, you’ll need to buy a Rental Cauldron.
Visit the Brilliant Registry to collect Brilliant Runestones.
Drink a Baruffio’s Brain Elixir and take the Knight Bus.
|Brew 5 Potions||1 Strong Exstimulo Potion|
|Collect 5 Brilliant Into the Fire Runestones||4 Armadillo Bile|
|Earn 7000 Wizarding XP from Challenges||1 Silver Key|
3rd Quest Rewards
- 1250 Wizarding XP
- 75 Brilliant Family XP
- 5 Restricted Section Books
- 10 Spell Energy
Into the Fire Quest 4/4
Quidditch Fan Hermione uses Aguamenti, so that should help with the spell-casting. Good Spells are much easier than Great Spells, so I hope this adjustment will help disabled players complete the event.
To defeat 20 Foes, hop on the Knight Bus. You usually get 3-4 Foes per Challenge in Ruins IV to Tower III.
Use Brilliant Runestones while doing those Wizarding Challenges to earn the Brilliant Weasley Twins.
|Cast 25 Good (or better) Spells||1 Spell Book|
|Defeat 20 Foes in Wizarding Challenges||1 Spell Book|
|Collect 3 Brilliant Team Ireland Fan Fred Weasley and George Weasley Fragments by Using Brilliant Into the Fire Runestones||1 Spell Book|
4th Quest Rewards
- 5 Restricted Section Books
- 50 Gold
- 5 Defense Against the Dark Arts Books
- 30 Spell Energy
- 1 Brilliant Bulgarian Seeker Viktor Krum Registry Image
Into the Fire BONUS Assignment!
To earn 12,500 Wizarding XP quickly, once again, drink a Brain Elixir. Wait until you’re on the Bonus Assignment to open 20 Gifts, prioritizing any Extravagant Gifts and others with high Wizarding XP. Honestly, I can get the 12,500 Wizarding XP with a Brain Elixir and just a handful of Extravagant Gifts.
If you can’t earn all of the Wizarding XP from Gifts, you can also return Foundables. Use your Trace Charm on every orangish-red and red beam (Severe and Emergency Traces). If you can visit an Inn safely, stack Dark Detectors to attract a greater amount of high-threat Traces.
Finally, use Tonic for Trace Detection to find the 25 Quidditch Fans and the 5 Remembrall Foundables.
If you don’t want to “waste” Potions just to complete this task, use an Edible Dark Mark. Then you’ll naturally use Potions on the Adversaries. Otherwise, just play normally, and use Potions as you might on a day-to-day basis. If you need to use a few extra Potions at the very end, challenge yourself as a solo player in a Wizarding Challenge.
|Place 5 Images on Into the Fire Page||1 Wit-Sharpening Potion|
|Return 25 Quidditch Fans||1 Silver Key|
|Earn 12,500 Wizarding XP from Any Source||1 Spell Book|
|Use 9 Exstimulo Potions (any)||10 Spell Energy|
|Return 5 Remembrall Foundables||2 Potent Exstimulo Potions|
Bonus Assignment Rewards
- 2000 Wizarding XP
- 100 Brilliant Family XP
- 5 Defense Against the Dark Arts Books
- 1 Brilliant Achievement Badge
- 20 Spell Energy
- 5 Brilliant Boot Portkey Registry Images
Brilliant Foundables and Where to Find Them
Just like previous Brilliant Events, you will only be able to encounter some of these Brilliant Foundables in the wild. The others are available as rewards for doing Wizarding Challenges with Brilliant Runestones and unlocking Brilliant Portkeys.
If you complete the Bonus Assignment, you do NOT need to unlock any Brilliant Portkeys.
|Brilliant||Where to Find it||Fragments to Collect|
|Brilliant Omnioculars||Wild Encounter||20|
|Brilliant Quidditch World Cup||Wild Encounter||20|
|Brilliant Team Ireland Fan Fred Weasley and George Weasley||Wizarding Challenges (use an event Runestone)||3|
|Brilliant Boot Portkey||Brilliant Portkey Portmanteau||5|
|Brilliant Bulgarian Seeker Viktor Krum||Brilliant Event Quest Reward||1|
How to Prepare for the Brilliant Event
Most Wizards Unite events, including Brilliant Events, will be easier to complete if you work on your SOS Training. Unlock as many of these nodes as you can!
With a more potent Baruffio’s Brain Elixir, you can earn Wizarding XP more quickly.
With reduced brewing times for Exstimulo Potions and Healing Potions, you can complete Master Notes tasks more quickly. You can also brew Potions more quickly.
With more Traces revealed by Tonic for Trace Detection, you can more quickly find Brilliant Traces, as well as the Quidditch Fans and other boosted Foundables. This will help you complete tasks.

Tips to Complete the Brilliant Event
If this is your first Brilliant Event, or maybe you’re returning after a Wizards Unite hiatus, these tips will help you complete the Brilliant Event before the time runs out. With careful planning, you can complete the Bonus Assignment as well!
- If you are below level 20 in Wizards Unite, you might want to use Exstimulo Potions on the Brilliant Foundables. Otherwise they will use a lot of Spell Energy to return, because they resist.
- As a reminder, Part 1 Portkeys will give you Part 1 Rewards anytime you open them, even if you wait to open them during Part 2. Brilliant Portkeys will glow purple on the Map. Be sure to pick up 5 Brilliant Portkeys during the Brilliant Event, even if you don’t open them all during the event.
- If you are nervous about finding time to walk the Brilliant Portkeys, or are living under a lockdown, you can also earn the necessary Brilliant Fragments by completing the Bonus Assignment.
- To find the Brilliant Brilliant Team Ireland Fan Fred Weasley and George Weasley, you must do Wizarding Challenges with the specific Brilliant Event Runestones. It’s easiest to do this during Quest 4 since it’s a task. To minimize your usage of Spell Energy, stick with Ruins IV-V Chambers. It might take a few extra Wizarding Challenges to get the 3 Fragments you need, but you’ll be able to do so quickly, without expending too many resources. If you’re low on Runestones, try Tower I-II Chambers to improve your odds of earning the required Fragments.
- If you decide to visit Inns, Fortresses, or Greenhouses during this event, continue to practice social distancing. Check out our previous article on staying safe while playing Wizards Unite.
- Save your Scrolls and your Restricted Section Books until the end of the event. Then use our guide to spend them wisely! That said, most Aurors and Magizoologists have already earned all the necessary Restricted Section Books, and many Professors have also done so. At this point, you can invest your resources in Advanced Adversarial Combat, you can start working on a second/third profession, or you can invest in SOS Training. That is a personal decision, so good luck!
Brilliant Event Bundles
As usual, you have the option to collect 1 free bundle and to buy 3 premium bundles. Don’t forget the open your free bundle before the event ends! The Bonus Bundle will not be available until the Bonus Assignment is unlocked, so keep that in mind.
First up, the SOS Bundle! This bundle keeps appearing in Brilliant Events: 5 Silver Keys and 100 Spell Energy for 450 Gold. Since the bundle is the same, the math is the same too.
You can buy 10 Silver Keys for 720 Gold, making the individual value of each Silver Key 72 Gold. 5 Silver Keys is thus worth 360 Gold. If you only need Silver Keys, the SOS Bundle is not a good value.
100 Spell Energy costs 200 Gold, bringing the bundle value up to 560 Gold, a savings of 110 Gold. This bundle is only valuable if you need discounted Spell Energy.
Next up, the Brilliant Bundle! For 800 Gold, you get:
- 5 Baruffio’s Brain Elixirs
- 10 Exstimulo Potions
- 5 Tonics for Trace Detection
- 30 Spell Energy
A single Baruffio’s Brain Elixir costs 100 Gold in Diagon Alley. However, if you just need to buy the rare Ingredients, it’s a better deal to spend 20 Gold for 1 Dragon Claw and 12 Gold for 2 Toadstools, use Master Notes in the Cauldron, and then collect the Potion immediately for 62 Gold. So let’s put the value of Brain Elixirs at 94 Gold.
Thus 5 Brain Elixirs are worth 470 Gold.
A single Tonic for Trace Detection in Diagon Alley costs 60 Gold. However, you can also buy 4 for 220 Gold, so the individual value is 55 Gold.
Thus 4 Tonics are worth 275 Gold.
I do not recommend spending Gold on regular Exstimulo Potions or their Ingredients.
Finally, the Spell Energy is worth 60 Gold.
The total value of the bundle is 805 Gold, a savings of just 5 Gold. You may decide this is a smart purchase for you if you are low on Ingredients for the Potions or they are particularly rare where you live.
Finally, the Bonus Assignment Bundle! For 2100 Gold, you get:
- 10 Strong Exstimulo Potions
- 10 Potent Exstimulo Potions
- 5 Wit-Sharpening Potions
- 10 Silver Keys
- 150 Spell Energy
Because the Ingredients needed to brew regular or Strong Exstimulo Potions are fairly common, it is typically not a good value to purchase them in Diagon Alley. For those who want to know the math, it’s 3 Gold each per Snowdrop, Bitterroot, and Re’em Blood, plus 12 Gold for Abraxan Hair, so 36 Gold per Strong Exstimulo Potion.
If you really need those Strong Potions, 10 could be worth 360 Gold.
(Also, the reason I look at all Ingredients for Strong Exstimulo Potion is because you should only spend Gold on these if you desperately can’t get the Ingredients. In that case, the cost comparison is for the cost of Ingredients).
A single Potent Exstimulo Potion in Diagon Alley costs 75 Gold. However, if you have all of the common Ingredients, it’s a better deal to buy 1 Unicorn Hair for 30 Gold, use Master Notes in the Cauldron, and then collect the Potion immediately for 41 Gold. So let’s put the value of Potent Exstimulo Potions at 71 Gold.
Thus 10 Potent Potions cost 710 Gold.
I don’t recommend spending Gold on Wit-Sharpening Potions. The Ingredients are common, and you can easily receive these Potions through Gifts.
The value of 10 Silver Keys is 720 Gold.
150 Spell Energy costs 300 Gold.
Even with the full cost of Spell Energy, this bundle is only worth 2,090 Gold. Honestly, I wish the HPWU team would hire me to design their bundles. Players would spend the Gold for a good value!
Final Brilliant Event Notes
Brilliant Events seem to have changed permanently to a Monday to Monday schedule.
Everyone stay safe! Your life is not more important than a game.
Along with completing the Brilliant Event tasks, you also have the opportunity to prestige Hogwarts Quidditch Stands! I recently got my gold frame, so I’m hoping to green-star the Quidditch Fans.
