Adversaries Event Tasks and Rewards

Tasks and rewards continue to be fairly similar to the most recent Adversaries Events, which honestly means the rewards aren’t worth the tasks. This could be even more true if you end up with bad RNG. (More on that later).

I’ll still complete the event, but not because I care about the rewards. I want the Adversaries to progress in my Registry. If you’ve already prestiged your pages, this event might be good to skip.

As with previous Adversaries Events, some tasks will be difficult to do from home if you don’t get much Map activity at your house. However, Edible Dark Marks will finally help a bit more! They will only give boosted Adversaries.

To complete all of these tasks, you need to defeat at least 5 Adversaries… And that will only be enough if you defeat Narcissa Malfoy 5 times AND collect 5 Wands from her.

Quest Step Reward
Use Master Notes 8 Times 1 Strong Exstimulo Potion
Use 2 Edible Dark Marks 20 Spell Energy
Return 2 Magic is Might Statues from Dark Chambers 1 Silver Key
Earn 1750 Challenge XP Through Wizarding Challenges and/or Adversary Chains 6 Ginger Root
Return 20 Artefact Fragments from Feared Wizard Chains 2 Potent Exstimulo Potions
Deal 25,000 Damage to Adversaries 1 DADA Book
Defeat 4 Feared Wizard Adversaries 1 DADA Book
Collect 5 Wands from Feared Wizards 1 DADA Book

Overall rewards:

  • 5 Defense Against the Dark Arts Books
  • 500 Wizarding XP
  • 60 Gold
  • 30 Spell Energy

Adversaries Event BONUS Tasks and Rewards

This Adversaries Event includes a Bonus Assignment! These tasks are relative easy compared to past events. ALL of the following will count towards the 12 Dark Wizards:

  • Imposing Dark Wizard (2nd Guard for Draco)
  • Draco Malfoy
  • Fenrir Greyback
  • Formidable Dark Wizard (1st Guard for Pettigrew)
  • Vicious Death Eater (2nd Guard for Pettigrew)
  • Peter Pettigrew
  • Dark Witch (2nd Guard for Narcissa)
  • Narcissa Malfoy

Not everyone will be able to complete the Bonus Assignment. That’s okay! Games should be fun, not stressful.

Note: These tasks are cumulative. You only need to defeat 10 Feared Wizard Adversaries total.

Quest Step Reward
Defeat 12 Dark Wizards in Adversary Encounters 1 Spell Book
Defeat 6 Feared Wizard Adversaries 1 Spell Book
Defeat 10 Feared Wizard Adversaries 1 Spell Book

Bonus rewards:

  • 5 Defense Against the Dark Arts Books
  • 1000 Wizarding XP
  • 40 Gold
  • 30 Spell Energy

How to Prepare for June’s Adversaries Event

My advice for this particular Adversaries Event remains unchanged from most recent Adversaries Events, because they’re all quite similar, just with different boosted Adversaries. While preparing before the event is helpful, using your resources wisely as you play is crucial as well.

Once again, this particular Adversaries Event features 5 Adversaries, so it will be a challenge to focus on a single page in your Registry. Luckily 3 of the Adversaries are relatively easy, so they’re a good target for prestiging pages or grinding DADA Books.

If you haven’t finished your Advanced Adversarial Combat, you might want to prioritize Draco Malfoy, Fenrir Greyback, and Gilderoy Lockhart if you have limited resources.

Prepare to Defeat Adversaries

Once again, the repetitive advice, simply stated.

  1. Finish a Profession Lesson Plan.
  2. Work on Advanced Adversarial Combat.
  3. Improve your Potions through SOS Training.
  4. Start brewing Healing Potions, Exstimulo Potions, and Wit-Sharpening Potions.
  5. Start collecting extra Ingredients for Exstimulo Potions and Wit-Sharpening Potions.
  6. Fill up on Spell Energy!
  7. Open up your maximum Gifts each day, prioritizing Gifts that give you the aforementioned resources.
  8. Purchase Vault Extensions.

This SOS Training chart indicates the different nodes and their locations to improve your Potions.

Baruffio’s Spotlight Event Prep

If you are at level 4 to level 14 in Wizards Unite, this is the chance to level up quickly! Here are the bonuses:

• Baruffio’s Brain Elixir brew time reduced to 6 hours
• Master Notes will reduce Baruffio’s Brain Elixir brew time by 50%
• Baruffio’s Brain Elixir effects increased to 3X

First, follow the advice above for collecting Ingredients for Exstimulo Potions. You can take advantage of the reduced brewing time.

Start saving all the Ingredients for Baruffio’s Brain Elixir! These are all the Ingredients you need to brew one Baruffio’s Brain Elixir.

2Leaping Toadstool 2Frog Brain 1Runespoor Eggs 1Powdered Dragon Claw

Frog Brains and Runespoor Eggs are fairly easy to find. Leaping Toadstools are rarely available on the Map–you mostly need to grow those in Greenhouses. Powdered Dragon Claws are exclusively available as Portkey rewards.

Leaping Toadstool has a 24-hour growing time. Plant seeds in a Greenhouse, and use Spell Energy to maximize the yield. Come back the next day at the same time to collect your Leaping Toadstools. To get even more Leaping Toadstools, use your Greenhouse Charm on the Greenhouse when you return to collect your Ingredients.

Walk a lot to unlock Portkeys for a chance at Powdered Dragon Claw.

You can also ask your friends to send you Baruffio’s Brain Elixir Gifts.

You should also brew at least a few Dawdle Draughts. These will help you with any Severe and Emergency Foundables during the weekend, which you will get by using Dark Detectors.

These are the Ingredients you need for Dawdle Draught.

Valerian Root Sopophorous Bean Butterscotch Hermit Crab Shell

You can find all Master Notes for all Potions here.

Tips to Enjoy the Adversaries Event

This advice assumes you get Traces at your home, or you’re able to visit an area with Wizards Unite activity on the Map. We’re still in a pandemic, so prioritize your health and follow all local laws!

First, always keep a close eye on your Potions so you can collect new ones immediately and use Master Notes on the next one. Keep brewing Potions constantly. This is helpful for everyone!

How to Collect Wand Fragments

Remember when I said RNG would be a component of this event? Yeah…

You can’t earn a Wand from defeating the 1st Guard of any Feared Witch or Wizard Adversary. You can only earn a Wand from the 2nd Guard or the actual Adversary.

Since the Fragments are random, it’s possible you will need to defeat a LOT of Adversaries to collect 5 Wands.

For this reason, you might be unable to follow my advice on prestiging pages quickly, if you’re hoping to finish tasks.

Prestige Pages Quickly

To place all of the Images on the Adversary pages, you need fewer of the final Adversary than you do of the Artefacts. This is true of all Feared Adversaries.

If you are low on Spell Energy and/or Potions, you can work to prestige your Registry pages while still conserving resources. Once you have placed an Adversary, and you have returned them enough times to place again, back out from future Adversary chains after you defeat the Guards. You will still receive Artefact Fragments by defeating the Guards.

Screenshot of Fenrir Greyback page with a bronze frame

However, this strategy does mean you earn less DADA Books. It’s up to you if you want to prioritize grinding DADA Books or prestiging pages. This strategy also doesn’t work if you want to complete the Bonus Assignment.

Grind DADA Books

If you really want to grind DADA Books, your best strategy involves going to an area with multiple Points of Interest in the game. Plant Snowdrop or Wormwood at a Greenhouse. Walk from Inn to Inn if available, or sit by an Inn if you just have one. Replenish your Spell Energy between Adversary Encounters. Use an EDM for 3 additional Adversaries every 30 minutes.

You earn 1 guaranteed DADA Book for each Adversary you defeat. Occasionally you can earn 1 DADA Book from defeating a Guard. You earn additional DADA Books by placing Adversary Images in the Challenges Registry.

Grind Wizarding XP (Spotlight Event)

If you are level 4-14, you can level up this weekend!

Ideally, you will visit a place with Inns. Stack Dark Detectors on the Inns. Drink a Brain Elixir. Return all of the Foundables.

Anything with a red beam needs a Strong or Potent Exstimulo Potion, plus a Dawdle Draught. Anything with an orange beam needs a regular Exstimulo Potion, if possible.

While your Brain Elixir is still running, open up 20 Gifts. Open any Portkeys that are ready.

If you are unable to visit an area with Inns, use a Tonic for Trace Detection. While you might not get any red beams, you can still grind Wizarding XP by returning Foundables. You can also easily use a Tonic for Trace Detection while walking around, so you can open Portkeys at the same time.

Finish Bonus Assignment

If you want the 3 extra Spell Books and 5 extra DADA Books, be strategic on the regular tasks to finish them quickly.

Brew regular Exstimulo Potions to use Master Notes more quickly.

Use a Dark Arts Runestone in Dark I to earn Magic is Might Statues.

Use your first EDM immediately, but wait until you have completed all other tasks to use your second EDM. (Unless you rely on EDMs for Adversaries, then use them as needed).

You have to defeat 4 Feared Wizards or Witches as a task. The Damage dealt varies widely from Draco Malfoy (2,586 for the Adversary chain) to Narcissa Malfoy (5,378 for the Adversary chain).

To deal 25,000 Damage, you need to defeat at least 5 Narcissa Malfoy. Most likely, with typical RNG, you will need to defeat a higher number of Adversaries to reach that 25,000 Damage.

While doing these tasks, you will collect the required Artefact Fragments since you earn 4 total for each Adversary chain. You will also earn sufficient Challenge XP by doing these tasks.

Once you finish most of the tasks, do the last task by using your second EDM. Quickly collect your rewards. Confirm the Bonus Assignment is live. Start tracking Feared Wizards and Witches! Your EDM will give you 3 Feared Wizards and Witches to start.

Use EDMs as necessary, but your best bet is to visit a park, a city center, or a university–anywhere with multiple POIs and Map activity.

Back out of any Adversaries that are not the featured Adversaries. If you want to prestige those pages, you can split the difference by just defeating the Guards to collect Artefact Fragments. And if you really want to save on resources, just defeat the first Guard then flee; it will take a while to place an item by only getting one Artefact Fragment at a time, but chipping away at them does work eventually.

If you have plenty of time to complete the Bonus Assignment, then feel free to defeat all Adversaries on the Map. The advice above is helpful if you’re short on time and/or resources, but you really want to finish the Bonus Assignment.

These tasks work in tandem quite nicely. Only Lockhart doesn’t count as a Dark Wizard. The other Adversaries all count, plus a few of the Guards count. (The full list is up above). I am triple-checking with Lola on this, but our document says the Adversaries count as Dark Wizards.

Adversaries Event Bundles

Like all Wizards Unite events, this Adversaries Event will feature store bundles. The free store pack includes an Edible Dark Mark! The paid bundles are both repeats from the previous May Adversaries Events. I’m repeating the math for any new readers!

Free store pack includes:

  • 1 Edible Dark Mark
  • 2 Healing Potions
  • 1 Exstimulo Potion
  • 30 Spell Energy

The Arresto Adversary Bundle (800 Gold) includes:

  • 3 Edible Dark Marks
  • 125 Spell Energy

Is this bundle a good deal?

You can buy 5 Edible Dark Marks for 1200 Gold, making the individual value 240 Gold. Thus the value of 3 Edible Dark Marks is 720 Gold. If you only want discounted Edible Dark Marks, this bundle is not a good value. If you want discounted Spell Energy, then the bundle is a decent deal.

The Adversary Vanquisher Trunk (2020 Gold) includes:

  • 3 Edible Dark Marks
  • 125 Spell Energy
  • 8 Potent Exstimulo Potions
  • 8 Strong Exstimulo Potions
  • 8 Wit-Sharpening Potions

3 Edible Dark Marks are worth 720 Gold.

A single Potent Exstimulo Potion in Diagon Alley costs 75 Gold. However, if you have all of the common Ingredients, it’s a better deal to buy 1 Unicorn Hair for 30 Gold, use Master Notes in the Cauldron, and then collect the Potion immediately for 41 Gold. So let’s put the value of Potent Exstimulo Potions at 71 Gold.

Thus 8 Potent Potions are worth 568 Gold.

Normally I don’t recommend spending Gold on Strong Exstimulo Potions because their Ingredients are common. However, with back-to-back Wizards Unite events, players are going through their Potions quickly.

Looking at just Ingredients, it’s 3 Gold each per Snowdrop, Bitterroot, and Re’em Blood, plus 12 Gold for Abraxan Hair, so 36 Gold per Strong Exstimulo Potion.

Thus 8 Strong Potions are worth 288 Gold.

I really don’t recommend spending Gold on Wit-Sharpening Potions because Ingredients will be boosted during the event, AND you can get these Potions through Gifts.

Before Spell Energy, the bundle is really not worth the price asked. I only recommend this bundle for rural players who don’t have access to Ingredients or Spell Energy.

I know these Wizards Unite event guides can be repetitive, but the events themselves are repetitive. I can’t control event tasks. As long as my advice remains unchanged, these articles will be familiar.

I’m glad you mentioned EDMs will only give boosted adversaries – in past events they were a waste of gringotts. Keeping my fingers crossed for luck with the RNG 🙂

I’m confused as to why Lockhart is included in this? The pixies are evil to be sure but Lockhart is just a narcissistic sociopath.
