Brilliant Event Guide: The Quidditch Cup Week 2

The month of Quidditch continues in Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. The second week of The Quidditch Cup Brilliant Event is fast approaching, so keep reading to discover all the event details.

The second week will be May 19-26, 2020.

You can find the rest of May’s events in our monthly overview.

Similar to Week 1 of The Quidditch Cup, this event will be completely playable from home. That means:

  • 1.5km Brilliant Portkeys
  • some Tonic for Trace Detection tasks

Now that players have the Knight Bus, this Brilliant Event will have Fortress-exclusive Foundables! This also means the bonus tasks will offer better rewards.

You can also discover all the Brilliant Event details in my video!

Brilliant Event Tasks

As per usual, these tasks all come straight from the Wizards Unite development team. They should be accurate unless the HPWU developers make last-minute changes (again). If anything changes, I will update this article as soon as possible!

Brilliant Portkeys from this week of the Burrow Besieged Brilliant Event will again feature the Quidditch Locker Room!

As mentioned in the chart above, Spell Energy will be among the rewards for completing tasks! This should help players who aren’t seeing much Spell Energy on the Map.

The Quidditch Cup Quest 1/4

Pretty straightforward tasks to start the Brilliant Event, very similar to the first set of tasks from the previous week. (And the rewards are identical!)

Earn 1000 Wizarding XP 6 Snowdrop
Return 5 Brilliant Bludgers 2 Re’em Blood
Collect Ingredients or Portmanteaus from the Map 2 times 1 Strong Exstimulo Potion

1st Quest Rewards

  • 550 Wizarding XP
  • 2 Restricted Section Books
  • 50 Brilliant Family XP
  • 1 Dark Detector
  • 10 Spell Energy

The Quidditch Cup Quest 2/4

Two of the boosted Foundables during this event require Flipendo to overcome the Confoundable Magic. If you’re having trouble finding those Foundables, use a Tonic for Trace Detection.

Return 4 Magical Games and Sports Foundables 2 Leaping Toadstool
Return 7 Magical Megaphones 1 Baruffio’s Brain Elixir
Cast Flipendo 10 times 1 Silver Key

2nd Quest Rewards

  • 750 Wizarding XP
  • 75 Brilliant Family XP
  • 3 Restricted Section Books
  • 1 Brilliant Gryffindor Beater Registry Image
  • 10 Spell Energy

The Quidditch Cup Quest 3/4

Again, straightforward tasks. If you’ve having trouble finding Ingredients or Portmanteaus at your home, you might need to take a walk around your neighborhood (if safe and legal to do so). Or stop at a park on the way to the grocery store and play Wizards Unite from your car.

Return 5 Beater’s Bats 1 Unicorn Hair
Return 10 Brilliant Quidditch Fan Luna 1 Potent Exstimulo Potion
Collect Ingredients or Portmanteaus from the Map 7 times 1 Silver Key

3rd Quest Rewards

  • 1250 Wizarding XP
  • 75 Brilliant Family XP
  • 5 Restricted Section Books
  • 10 Spell Energy

The Quidditch Cup Quest 4/4

Luckily the Quaffle is boosted, and it’s a lot easier to return than the Golden Snitch!

Cast Flipendo 15 Times 1 Spell Book
Return 10 Quaffles 1 Spell Book
Use 2 Tonic for Trace Detection 1 Spell Book

4th Quest Rewards

  • 5 Restricted Section Books
  • 50 Gold
  • 1 Brilliant Slytherin Chaser Registry Image
  • 1 Quidditch Captain Crest – Slytherin Portrait Sticker
  • 1 Quidditch Captain Crest – Gryffindor Portrait Sticker
  • 10 Spell Energy

The Quidditch Cup Week 2 BONUS Assignment!

If you complete the regular Brilliant Event quests before the Brilliant Event ends, you also have the opportunity to complete the Bonus Assignment.

10,000 Wizarding XP is a lot… But between returning Foundables and taking the Knight Bus, you can rack that up in a reasonable amount of time, especially if you use a Baruffio’s Brain Elixir.

You only need to cast Flipendo successfully… You don’t need to return the Foundable. Rack up that number by slowly and accurately doing the spell, so you have to do it multiple times on a single Foundable.

Earn 10,000 Wizarding XP 3 Silver Keys
Use 3 Tonic for Trace Detection 1 Dawdle Draught
Return 30 Brilliant Traces 1 Potent Exstimulo Potion
Cast Flipendo 45 times 2 Dark Detectors
Return 20 Magical Games and Sports Foundables 1 Powdered Dragon Claw

Bonus Rewards

  • 2000 Wizarding XP
  • 100 Brilliant Family XP
  • 5 Spell Books
  • 1 Achievement Badge
  • 30 Spell Energy

Brilliant Foundables and Where to Find Them

Just like previous Brilliant Events, you will only be able to encounter some of these Brilliant Foundables in the wild. The others are available as rewards for completing event tasks, doing Wizarding Challenges with Brilliant Runestones, and unlocking Brilliant Portkeys.

Brilliant Where to find it Fragments to collect
Brilliant Quidditch Fan Luna Lovegood Wild Encounter 15
Brilliant Bludger Wild Encounter 15
Brilliant Gryffindor Beater Event Tasks 1
Brilliant Slytherin Chaser Event Tasks 1
Brilliant Quidditch Score-Keeper Brilliant Portkey Portmanteaus 5
Brilliant Quidditch Fan McGonagall Wizarding Challenges with a Brilliant Runestone 3

Tips to Complete the Brilliant Event

If this is your first Brilliant Event, these tips will help you complete the Brilliant Event before the time runs out. With careful planning, you can complete the Bonus Assignment as well!

  • As a reminder, Part 1 Portkeys will give you Part 1 Rewards anytime you open them, even if you wait to open them during Part 2. Brilliant Portkeys will glow purple on the Map. Be sure to collect 5 Portkeys during the Brilliant Event, even if you don’t open them all during the event.
  • To find the Brilliant Quidditch Fan McGonagall, you must do Wizarding Challenges with the specific Brilliant Event Runestone. To minimize your Spell Energy, stick with the Ruins Chambers. It might take a few extra Wizarding Challenges to get the 3 Foundables you need, but you’ll be able to do so quickly, without expending too many resources.
  • If you use a Brilliant Runestone AFTER the week has ended, you have a chance of getting Brilliant Quidditch Fan McGonagall OR Brilliant Inter-House Quidditch Cup.
  • If you decide to visit Inns, Fortresses, or Greenhouses during this event, continue to practice social distancing. Check out my previous article on staying safe while playing Wizards Unite.
  • Save your Scrolls and your Restricted Section Books until the end of the event. Then use our guide to spend them wisely! That said, most Aurors and Magizoologists have already earned all the necessary Restricted Section Books, and many Professors have also done so. At this point, you can either hold on to your resources in case they’re needed for the next lesson plan, or you can start working on a second profession. That is a personal decision, and I don’t have any advanced knowledge on what the next lesson plan will look like.

Brilliant Event Bundles

There are 4 bundles total that will be available during this event. Be sure to snag the Free Bundle as soon as the event starts! The Bonus Bundle will not be available until the Bonus Assignment is unlocked, so keep that in mind. Orange Wizard provided the infographic below explaining all of the bundles.

The bundles for The Quidditch Cup Brilliant Event Week 2 are identical to the first week! I’m sharing my initial math below to determine whether or not these bundles are a good deal.

First, the SOS bundle.

Tonic for Trace Detection costs 60 Gold for 1 and 220 Gold for 4, meaning you would spend 280 Gold for 5. 150 Spell Energy costs 300 Gold.

Thus the value of the SOS Bundle is 580 Gold, a savings of 160 Gold, but only if you value discounted Spell Energy.

Next, the Brilliant Bundle.

A single Baruffio’s Brain Elixir costs 100 Gold in Diagon Alley. However, if you just need to buy the rare Ingredients, it’s a better deal to spend 20 Gold for 1 Dragon Claw and 12 Gold for 2 Toadstools, use Master Notes in the Cauldron, and then collect the Potion immediately for 62 Gold. So let’s put the value of Brain Elixirs at 94 Gold.

Thus it costs 470 Gold to buy 5 Brain Elixirs. Increasing your Ingredients Capacity by 30 costs 150 Gold; half of that is 75 Gold. 150 Spell Energy costs 300 Gold.

Thus the value of the Brilliant Bundle is 845 Gold. That’s only a savings of 245 Gold, but only if you value discounted Spell Energy.

Finally, the Bonus Bundle.

A single Potent Exstimulo Potion in Diagon Alley costs 75 Gold. However, if you have all of the common Ingredients, it’s a better deal to buy 1 Unicorn Hair for 30 Gold, use Master Notes in the Cauldron, and then collect the Potion immediately for 41 Gold. So let’s put the value of Potent Exstimulo Potions at 71 Gold.

That means that 15 Potents are worth 1065 Gold.

Remember, a Brain Elixir is worth 94 Gold, so 15 are worth 1410 Gold.

It costs 200 Gold to expand Potions Capacity by 10. So the value of expanding Potions Capacity by 20 is 400 Gold.

Thus the value of the Bonus Bundle is 2875 Gold. That’s a savings of 875 Gold if you value the Potions Capacity. The savings is 475 Gold otherwise.

Are you excited for this Brilliant Event? What do you think of the tasks, rewards, bundles, and more?

A little tip if you find yourself feeling overwhelmed or really anxious about the 10,000 wizarding XP and/or maybe you need the silver keys right away. Remember when they overhauled the registry? If you haven’t prestiged any of your foundables, (especially the ones from past events) save them for this event! If you had completed the event, each foundable will yield 1,000 wizarding XP when you prestige them.
