Guide to Week 1 of Stronger United Brilliant Event!

Discover all the tasks and the rewards in the first week of the Stronger United Brilliant Event. I’ve also shared a few tips to complete the tasks quickly.

ALSO I’m extra-thankful for a new Bonus Assignment! This Brilliant Event will have a Bonus Assignment during both weeks.

Brilliant Event Tasks

These tasks all come straight from Fazes, so they should be accurate, unless the HPWU developers make last-minute changes (again).

Like the previous Brilliant Events, the quest line is split into four sections. You have to complete each section before progressing to the next one.

The 3k Portkey Portmanteaus will go to a new location, Umbridge’s Ministry Office.

If you prefer watching a video, I’ve also covered all of this information on my YouTube channel!

Stronger United Quest 1/4

These tasks are a little different than what we’ve seen before. To find new friends, check out the forum thread on our website. Using the Dark Detector should help attract Medium-Threat Foundables, so those tasks can be done rather quickly together.

Use 1 Dark Detector 2 Restricted Section Books
Return 5 Medium-Threat (or Higher) Foundables 1 Dark Detector
Add 1 Friend Reward 20 Brilliant Family

1st Quest Rewards

  • 500 Wizarding XP
  • 1 Restricted Section Book
  • 1 Spell Book
  • 1 Department of Mysteries Prophecy Orb Portrait Frame
  • 2 Abraxan Hair Ingredients
  • 2 Re’em Blood Ingredients

Stronger United Quest 2/4

I like that these tasks all work together. Plus you get some of the Ingredients to brew the Strong Exstimulo Potions as rewards for the first set of tasks.

If you’re having trouble finding High-Threat Foundables, look for Oddities around Dusk. Erklings, Vampires, and Werewolves are all High-Threat Foundables.

Brew 2 Strong Exstimulo Potions 300 Wizarding XP
Use 2 Strong Exstimulo Potions 15 Brilliant Family XP
Return 5 High-Threat (or Higher) Foundables 20 Brilliant Family XP

2nd Quest Rewards

  • 25 Brilliant Family XP
  • 3 Restricted Section Books
  • Ministry Bay Windows/Columns Portrait Frame
  • Brilliant Amelia Bones Registry Sticker
  • 2 Unicorn Hair Ingredients
  • 4 Re’em Blood Ingredients

Stronger United Quest 3/4

Again, I like that these tasks work together. You receive some of the Ingredients for the Potent Exstimulo Potions as rewards for the second set of tasks.

Brew 2 Potent Exstimulo Potions 500 Wizarding XP
Use 3 Potent Exstimulo Potions 500 Wizarding XP
Return 5 Brilliant Mad-Eye Moody Foundables 15 Brilliant Family XP

Return 5 High-Threat (or Higher) Foundables 750 Wizarding XP
Return 5 Brilliant Tonks Foundables 25 Brilliant Family XP

4th Quest Rewards

  • 50 Gold
  • 5 Restricted Section Books
  • Brilliant Rufus Scrimgeour Registry Sticker
  • 2 Dark Detectors

Stronger United BONUS Assignment!

If you complete the Brilliant Event quests early, then you unlock the Bonus Assignment. These Brilliant Event tasks are fairly easy–many tasks you can do simultaneously. Getting to the Bonus Assignment is not the challenge, but completing the Bonus Assignment will be a challenge!

To find Severe-Threat Foundables, stack 3 Dark Detectors on a single Inn, preferably a sponsored Inn. Also use a Tonic for Trace Detection Potion.

Return 30 Medium-Threat (or Higher) Foundables 2 Dark Detectors
Return 20 High-Threat (or Higher) Foundables 1 Ministry ID Title: Conqueror of Confoundables
Return 3 Severe-Threat Foundables Fudge Bowler Hat Portrait Lens

Bonus Rewards

  • 2000 Wizarding XP
  • 100 Brilliant Family XP
  • 3 Spell Books

Brilliant Foundables and Where to Find Them

Similar to the previous Brilliant Events, you will only be able to encounter some of these Brilliant Foundables in the wild. The others can be found through Fortress Challenges, special 3k Portkeys, and event tasks.

Brilliant Where to find it Fragments to collect
Brilliant Mad-Eye Moody Wild Encounter 10
Brilliant Tonks Wild Encounter 10
Brilliant Amelia Bones Event Tasks 1
Brilliant Rufus Scimgeour Event Tasks 1
Brilliant Kingsley Shacklebolt Brilliant Portkey Portmanteaus 5
Brilliant Gethsemane Prickle Wizarding Challenges (need a Brilliant Runestone) 3

Tips to Complete the Brilliant Event

If this is your first Brilliant Event, or if you’re thrown off by the different tasks, these tips will help you complete the Brilliant Event with time to spare. And then you can complete the Bonus Assignment as well!

  • As a reminder, Part 1 Portkeys will give you Part 1 Rewards anytime you open them, even if you wait to open them during Part 2. Brilliant Portkeys will glow purple on the Map. Do not pick up more than you need!
  • Hold on to your Dark Detectors to use during this event. While you do receive some as rewards, you will need a lot!
  • If you’ve having trouble finding Brilliant Traces, avoid flagged areas. They are less likely to spawn in those areas.
  • To collect Brilliant Gethsemane Prickle Fragments, you need to do Wizarding Challenges (Fortress battles) with a Brilliant Runestone. Try Tower I and Tower II Chambers to collect these Fragments.
  • If you need to complete the event quickly, or you only have a short time to work on it, visit a sponsored Simon Mall if at all possible. Inns, Fortresses, and spawns are all plentiful.
  • Save your Scrolls and your Restricted Section Books until the end of the event. Then use our guide to spend them wisely! Aurors and Magizoologists are getting close to earning all of the Restricted Section Books needed to fill out their skill tree.
  • When working on the Bonus Assignment, stack Dark Detectors and use a Tonic for Trace Detection Potion. This is a great opportunity to work with your local community to share the benefits of Dark Detectors.

Are you excited for the upcoming Brilliant Event? What do you think of the Bonus Assignment? Leave a comment below!

P.S. Need a new external battery pack to get you through another week of playing Wizards Unite? I’ve written a guide of top-rated power banks over on my own blog!

Seriously, up to 14 green books when all the big unlocks require 15? Is this to torment the user community a bit? Have we been naughty? :-/

“Add 1 friend” – no comment (it wouldn’t be civil).

[Note: this entry has been formatted, much of it being an unordered list (with bullets). Sadly, the formatting has no effect, and one has to trudge through continuous text instead. I will now add asterisks where bullets should be] OK, now I have cooled down and can elaborate on “Add 1 friend”.. * Some good points were already mentioned by Mark Percy below (or above). * Unlike in Ingress, where you can detect players around and actually address them in-game, in WU you can only make indirect guesses out-of-game as to which of the people around may be WU players… Read more »

“add 1 friend”? No comment.

“Add a friend”? No comment? Okay then, I’ll comment. I love how they think that it is a good quest requirement for a special event. Because everyone has more friends playing that they haven’t already added to their game. Or they expect you to pester someone who ISN’T playing the game, doesn’t want to play, and recruit them just to push through. And I love how these guides talk to you as if you’ve been playing since day one and have 100% completed every quest. “Aurors and Magizoologists are getting close to earning all of the Restricted Section Books needed… Read more »

You sound grumpy.

Mark, please do make sure to draw a distinction between the weird Niantic ideas and the potential quirks in the friendly reports by the contributors to this platform here. I don’t think Brita has any professional relationship with NIA, I think she has an emotional relationship with the game… 🙂 Indeed, several months into the game, the bits you point out only make sense to an ever smaller circle, but a friendly bit of feedback should be enough to correct that.

Other than Michael (and possibly Julienne), I appear to have stumbled into a tinfoil hat corner – no one’s forcing you to accost random people on the street for the sake of a WU event task, maybe joining a WU Discord server & swapping friend codes that way would be a more agreeable method (that’s what I’ll be doing myself, as I’m already in game friends with the other local WU players in my city). Actually if you read this post during page 1 of the event (starting in 4 hours & 20 minutes) feel free to add me to… Read more »

Sure, Richard, and we have now a forum here for that, too – but notice that this isn’t something that the *game* event script should take into account. In other words, because the WU players are resourceful, we now have a kludge to deal with a botched event script produced by Niantic, but no thanks to NIA there, just thanks to the community at Disc and at Hub.

I get the frustration of add a friend, I live rural. On the other hand the game is named wizards UNITE, we should expect this. Add your code, get a friend. I have more friends right now waiting for me to add them at go time than I do total friends.

Jaikula Freedom

For all those going on about the Add 1 Friend part, goto and input your friend code, you will soon get them
Edit to add there is also I believe a friend code section on here.

Has anyone been able to get past the “return five high foundables” task?
