The second June Adversaries Event in Harry Potter: Wizards Unite has a surprise twist: the theme is Norbert(a), Hagrid’s beloved dragon! In addition to the Ancient Norwegian Ridgeback, the Baby Norwegian Ridgeback will also be boosted, and Wizarding Challenges will have some fun related bonus rewards.
In addition, the Baruffio’s Brain Elixir Spotlight Event is back for players who are level four to fourteen.
This Wizards Unite guide will offer strategic tips and cover all event details, including tasks and rewards.
Thank you Niantic and WB Games for providing Wizards Unite Hub with early information so we can create Wizards Unite guides. They do not pay us for these articles. We rely on ad revenue and donations to run this website.

June Adversaries Event Two Overview
|Date + Time
Adversaries Event Tasks and Rewards
Tasks and rewards continue to be fairly similar to the most recent Adversaries Events, so prestiging your Adversary Pages is arguably more enticing than the rewards themselves.
As with previous Adversaries Events, some tasks will be difficult to do from home if you don’t get much Map activity at your house. For this Adversaries Event, Edible Dark Marks are more likely to reveal the Ancient Norwegian Ridgeback, but this is not guaranteed.
|Use two Edible Dark Marks||Twenty Spell Energy|
|Return twelve Baby Norwegian Ridgebacks||One Strong Exstimulo Potion|
|Return four Hagrid’s Hut Fragments from Forest Chambers||One Silver Key|
|Earn 1750 Challenge XP through Wizarding Challenges and Adversary Chains||Six Ginger Root|
|Use seven Potions in Adversary Encounters||Two Potent Exstimulo Potions|
|Deal 27,500 damage to Adversaries||One DADA Book|
|Calm Baby Ridgebacks by recovering four Teddy Bear Fragments from Ridgeback Adversaries||One DADA Book|
|Defeat five Ancient Norwegian Ridgebacks||One DADA Book|
- Five Defense Against the Dark Arts Books
- 500 Wizarding XP
- Sixty Gold
- Thirty Spell Energy
Adversaries Event BONUS Tasks and Rewards
This Adversaries Event includes a Bonus Assignment!
|Cast ten Great Meteolojinx Recanto||One Spell Book|
|Defeat seven Ancient Norwegian Ridgebacks||One Spell Book|
|Return three Monster Book of Monsters from Dark Chambers||One Spell Book|
- Five Defense Against the Dark Arts Books
- 1000 Wizarding XP
- Forty Gold
- Thirty Spell Energy
Not everyone will be able to complete the Bonus Assignment. That’s okay! Games should be fun, not stressful.
How to Prepare for June’s Second Adversaries Event
The preparation for this particular Adversaries Event remains unchanged from most recent Adversaries Events because they’re all quite similar, just with different boosted Adversaries. While preparing before the event is helpful, using your resources wisely as you play is crucial as well. This particular Adversaries Event only features one Adversary, so it will be much easier to prestige.
Prepare to Defeat Adversaries
Once again, we advise that you do the following:
- Finish a Profession Lesson Plan.
- Work on Advanced Adversarial Combat.
- Improve your Potions through SOS Training.
- Start brewing Healing Potions, Exstimulo Potions, and Wit-Sharpening Potions.
- Start collecting extra Ingredients for Exstimulo Potions and Wit-Sharpening Potions.
- Fill up on Spell Energy.
- Open up your maximum Gifts each day, prioritizing Gifts that give you the aforementioned resources.
- Purchase Vault Extensions.
Refer to this chart to find the nodes in SOS Training that improve your Potions.

Baruffio’s Spotlight Event Prep
If you are at level four to fourteen in Wizards Unite, this is the chance to level up quickly! Here are the bonuses:
• Baruffio’s Brain Elixir brew time reduced to six hours
• Master Notes will reduce Baruffio’s Brain Elixir brew time by fifty percent.
• Baruffio’s Brain Elixir will triple the amount of Wizarding XP earned.
First, follow the advice above for collecting Ingredients for Exstimulo Potions. You can take advantage of the reduced brewing time. Exstimulo Potions will help you return higher threat Traces and therefore earn more Wizarding XP.
Start saving all the Ingredients for Baruffio’s Brain Elixir. These are all the Ingredients you need to brew one Baruffio’s Brain Elixir.
|1Runespoor Eggs||1Powdered Dragon Claw|
Frog Brains and Runespoor Eggs are fairly easy to find. Leaping Toadstools are rarely available on the Map. You mostly need to grow those in Greenhouses. Powdered Dragon Claws are exclusively available as Portkey rewards.
Leaping Toadstool takes twenty-four hours to grow. Plant seeds in a Greenhouse, and use Spell Energy to maximize the yield. Come back the next day at the same time to collect your Leaping Toadstools. To get even more Leaping Toadstools, use your Greenhouse Charm on the Greenhouse before you collect your Ingredients.
Walk a lot to unlock Portkeys for a chance at Powdered Dragon Claw.
You can also ask your friends to send you Baruffio’s Brain Elixir Gifts.
You should also brew at least a few Dawdle Draughts. These will help you return Severe and Emergency Traces more easily.
These are the Ingredients you need for Dawdle Draught.
|Valerian Root||Sopophorous Bean||Butterscotch||Hermit Crab Shell|
Tips to Enjoy the Adversaries Event
This advice assumes you get Traces at your home, or you’re able to visit an area with Wizards Unite activity on the Map. We’re still in a pandemic, so prioritize your health and follow all local laws!
First, always keep a close eye on your Potions so you can collect new ones immediately and use Master Notes on the next one. Keep brewing Potions constantly.
Prestige Pages Quickly
To place all of the Images on the Adversary pages, you need fewer of the final Adversary than you do of the Artefacts. This is true of all Feared Adversaries.
If you are low on Spell Energy or Potions, you can work to prestige your Registry pages while still conserving resources. Once you have placed an Adversary, return them enough times so that you are ready to place again. At that point, back out from future Adversary chains after you defeat the Guards. You will still receive Artefact Fragments by defeating the Guards.
However, this strategy does mean you earn fewer DADA Books. It’s up to you if you want to prioritize grinding DADA Books or prestiging pages. This strategy also doesn’t work if you want to complete the Bonus Assignment.
The chart below from Plotter101 shows which Artefact Fragments drop from which Foes in the Ancient Norwegian Ridgeback chain. This should help you strategize and save Spell Energy.
Grind DADA Books
If you really want to grind DADA Books, your best strategy involves going to an area with multiple Points of Interest in the game. Plant Snowdrop or Wormwood at a Greenhouse. Walk from Inn to Inn if available, or sit by an Inn if you just have one. Replenish your Spell Energy between Adversary Encounters. Use an EDM for three additional Adversaries every thirty minutes.
You earn one guaranteed DADA Book for each Adversary you defeat. Occasionally you can earn one DADA Book from defeating a Guard. You earn additional DADA Books by placing Adversary Images in the Challenges Registry.
Grind Wizarding XP (Spotlight Event)
If you are level four to fourteen, you can level up this weekend! Brita has a video guide to the Baruffio’s Brain Elixir Spotlight Event.
Ideally, you will visit a place with Inns. Stack Dark Detectors on the Inns. Drink a Brain Elixir. Return all of the Foundables.
Anything with a red beam needs a Strong or Potent Exstimulo Potion, plus a Dawdle Draught. Anything with an orange beam needs a regular Exstimulo Potion, if possible.
While your Brain Elixir is still running, open twenty Gifts. Open any Portkeys that are ready.
If you are unable to visit an area with Inns, use a Tonic for Trace Detection. While you might not get any red beams, you can still grind Wizarding XP by returning Foundables. You can also easily use a Tonic for Trace Detection while walking around, so you can open Portkeys at the same time.
Finish Bonus Assignment
If you want the three extra Spell Books and five extra DADA Books, be strategic on the regular tasks to finish them quickly.
Use your first EDM immediately, but wait until you have completed all other tasks to use your second EDM. (However, if you rely on EDMs for Adversaries, use them as needed.)
Walk around while your EDM runs in order to find Baby Norwegian Ridgebacks.
Battle in Forest I to earn Hagrid’s Hut Fragments. This will also help you earn the Challenge XP required.
The damage dealt for the whole Ancient Norwegian Ridgeback chain is 4,970. So, if you defeat the Ancient Norwegian Ridgeback six times, you will complete the “deal 27,500 damage to Adversaries” task. This, of course, will take care of the “defeat five Ancient Norwegian Ridgebacks” task.
Use Potions during the battles and earn the required Teddy Bear Fragments. As noted in the chart above, the Teddy Bear Fragment only drops from the second Guard and the actual Adversary. If you have bad RNG, you might need to defeat more Ancient Norwegian Ridgebacks to collect four Teddy Bear Fragments.
Once you finish most of the tasks, do the last task by using your second EDM. Quickly collect your rewards. Confirm the Bonus Assignment is live. Start tracking more Ancient Norwegian Ridgebacks.
Use EDMs as necessary, but your best bet is to visit a park, a city center, or a university (anywhere with multiple Points of Interest and Map activity).
Back out of any Adversaries that are not the featured Adversary. If you want to prestige those pages, you can split the difference by just defeating the Guards to collect Artefact Fragments. And if you really want to save on resources, just defeat the first Guard then flee; it will take a while to place an item by only getting one Artefact Fragment at a time, but chipping away at them does work eventually.
If you have plenty of time to complete the Bonus Assignment, feel free to defeat all Adversaries on the Map. The advice above is helpful if you’re short on time or resources, but you really want to finish the Bonus Assignment.
Use a Tonic for Trace Detection if necessary to find more Baby Norwegian Ridgeback Foundables. These are guarded by Meteolojinx Recanto.
Collect Monster Book of Monster Fragments by doing Wizarding Challenges in Dark I.
Adversaries Event Bundles
This Adversaries Event will feature store bundles. The free store pack includes an Edible Dark Mark. The paid bundles are both repeats from the previous June Adversary Event. I’m repeating the math for any new readers.
The free store pack includes the following items:
- One Edible Dark Mark
- Two Healing Potions
- One Exstimulo Potion
The Arresto Adversary Bundle (800 Gold) includes the following items:
- Three Edible Dark Marks
- 125 Spell Energy
Is this bundle a good deal?
You can buy five Edible Dark Marks for 1200 Gold, making the individual value 240 Gold. Thus, the value of three Edible Dark Marks is 720 Gold. If you only want discounted Edible Dark Marks, this bundle is not a good deal. If you want discounted Spell Energy, the bundle is a decent deal.
The Adversary Vanquisher Trunk (2020 Gold) includes the following items:
- Three Edible Dark Marks
- 125 Spell Energy
- Eight Potent Exstimulo Potions
- Eight Strong Exstimulo Potions
- Eight Wit-Sharpening Potions
Three Edible Dark Marks are worth 720 Gold.
A single Potent Exstimulo Potion in Diagon Alley costs 75 Gold. However, if you have all of the common Ingredients, it’s a better deal to buy one Unicorn Hair for 30 Gold, use Master Notes in the Cauldron, and then collect the Potion immediately for 41 Gold. So, let’s put the value of Potent Exstimulo Potions at 71 Gold.
Thus, eight Potent Exstimulo Potions are worth 568 Gold.
Normally we don’t recommend spending Gold on Strong Exstimulo Potions because their Ingredients are common. However, with frequent Wizards Unite events, players are going through their Potions quickly.
Looking at just Ingredients, it’s 3 Gold each per Snowdrop, Bitterroot, and Re’em Blood. The Abraxan Hair is 12 Gold. So, one Strong Exstimulo Potion is 36 Gold.
Thus, eight Strong Exstimulo Potions are worth 288 Gold.
I really don’t recommend spending Gold on Wit-Sharpening Potions because Ingredients will be boosted during the event, and you can get these Potions through Gifts.
Before Spell Energy, the bundle is really not worth the price asked. I only recommend this bundle for rural players who don’t have access to Ingredients or Spell Energy.
