Wizards Unite Gift Guide

Wizards Unite Gifting Screens

Gifts became part of Harry Potter: Wizards Unite near the end of 2019. Since then, Gifts have evolved in several ways.

My gift to YOU is an in-depth guide on how Gifts work in Wizards Unite. (Sorry, this gift doesn’t include any Spell Books or Gold.)

Unique Gifts in Wizards Unite

In addition to Spell Energy Gifts, Ingredient Gifts, Potion Gifts, and Runestone Gifts, players in Wizards Unite can earn two unique Gifts: Wizard XP Gifts and Gold Gifts.

Wizard XP Gifts

  • Obtained by dining at an Inn
  • Reward: 1500 Wizarding XP
  • You can improve your odds of obtaining a Wizard XP Gift if you unlock the following nodes in the SOS Skill Tree:
    1. “Flavour Savior.” It is connected to the level 11 line on Calamity Essentials I.
    2. “St. Treacle Tart.” It is connected to the level 15 line on Calamity Essentials II.
    3. “Friend of Falmouth.” It is connected to the level 25 line on Calamity Essentials II.
    4. “Bridget’s Granddaughter.” It is connected to the level 25 line on Calamity Essentials II.
    5. “Making Good in the Hollow.” It is connected to the level 40 line on Calamity Essentials II.

Please note that the text has incorrect wording. The Gifts are called “Wizard XP Gifts.” They are not “Extravagant Wizarding XP Gifts.”

Gold Gifts

  • Can be obtained after unlocking the “Preferred Client” node in the SOS Skill Tree. This is located at the very bottom of the Calamity Essentials III Tree. “Preferred Client” creates a chance of a Gold Gift drop when you rank up in one of the Exploration Families.
  • Reward: 100 Gold and 1000 Wizarding XP

More Details About Gifts in Wizards Unite

  1. You can open up to twenty Gifts per day.
  2. You can hold up to thirty Gifts at a time. If a Gold Gift drops during a rank-up while you have thirty Gifts, it will not actually appear in your Gift inventory. To avoid this, always check your “Gifts to Send” page before placing Images in your Registry. (Placing Images leads to rank-ups.)
  3. You can collect up to one hundred Gifts per day.
  4. You can only send each friend a Gift once per day. You must also open a Gift from a friend before you can receive another.
  5. Baruffio’s Brain Elixir does increase the amount of Wizarding XP you obtain from opening Gifts.
  6. Most players who are level sixty do not want Wizard XP Gifts or any kind of Baruffio-related Gift. Save them for friends who are still leveling up! Before sending Wizard XP or Baruffio-related Gifts, click on a player’s name in your friend list to see if they are level sixty. You can also coordinate Gift preferences on Discord, Facebook, etc.

Happy gifting!

A very special thank you to IrisLacustris and another anonymous friend for helping me out with the research for this article!

Speaking for myself but Dawdle Draught Ingredient Gifts are useless and I throw them away.

Personally I throw away ALL “ingredient” gifts, as well as all normal energy gifts. Most Wizard XP gifts and most Extravagant Spell Energy also get pitched. Regular runestone gifts get pitched if I have very many (especially if I have many Magnificent/Extravagant/Essential). I don’t have a ton of active friends, but gold gifts, various runestone gifts, and potion gifts seem the best value to share. Prior to adversaries being released, I preferred to receive regular runestone gifts over essential, just because I didn’t have potion space to “waste” on healing potions and runestones are useful without taking up any space.… Read more »

Curious about the gold gifts, have you noticed their drop rate getting lower recently? If I get one I have to sit on it for a few days before I finally get one to send back.

I haven’t gotten one in forever! (Meaning gotten one from a trunk to give.) I’m hoping the Spotlight Event this weekend will drop a bunch, but who knows?

Also speaking for myself, please, PLEASE check a player’s level before sending a Wizard XP gift. They are useless to Level 60 players.

Useless as they may be I still don’t mind them after 60 only because the help pop the daily before I even leave the house or if there is a exp mission going ti speeds it up a little.I will end up sitting on them if none of those things are going on for future use.

That’s true; I do the same thing.
