I’m in Australia and I am currently on level 20. Yet I’m still yet to grasp how the spells work in the fortress or even what a focus thing is/how you get it. Does anyone know how to use/which spells are the most useful in fortresses? And which Runestones should I be using on each chamber? Ps I’m a Professor.
Focus is like your spell power for casting those spells/hexes that are available in wizard challenge. You can see them lined up along the bottom of your screen when you are selecting your opponent during challenges. You gain the ability to cast these spells by unlocking them in your profession tree. You cast these before engaging in combat with an enemy. Each spell has a number on it that tells you how much focus it requires to cast. You start each challenge with a base amount of focus and you also get focus back when you defeat an enemy.
You use a spell/hex by dragging and dropping it on the enemy you want to put it on. You’ll see a little flourish over the enemy icon when it is applied. When you go into combat with the enemy, the hexes that are being applied are shown below its health bar.
If it’s a spell that you can cast on your team mates (to replenish focus or whatever), you drag and drop it over their icon at the top of the screen instead.
Runestones set the difficulty multiplier for the Chamber. so the higher level Runestone the harder the opponents become. But you can use any Runestone in any chamber, as the type of runestone seems to help determine your rewards based on its type. Focus comes from 2 things your initial Focus from skill tree and by defeating enemy’s in the chambers. Some skill spells are for teammates only and some you can use on your self as well.
