Wizards fortunate enough to begin completing their quests for the Fighting Forces Week One Brilliant Event noticed an interesting unannounced feature. One of the first tasks is to use a Tonic for Trace Detection Potion, and some of those who did this had certain Oddities appear that normally would not appear.
Specifically, there are reports of Doxies appearing in non-dawn time periods, as well as Werewolves appearing in the middle of the day with no full moon in sight. A few players have even seen Dragons from other regions!
If you normally don’t use Tonic for Trace Detection, perhaps you may reconsider for the event. The rare ingredient Erumpent Horn is now appearing in the wild more often and is also a reward in 3km Brilliant Portkeys, so it is easier now to brew the Tonic.
Have you seen anything extraordinary using Tonic for Trace Detection Potion? Let us know in the comments below!
I caught several Three Headed Dogs on a Trace Detection potion as well as daytime Doxies.
werewolves and doxies around 2:30 pm.
I got 4 non-regional dragons yesterday on one tonic for trace detection. One Antipodean Opaleye, one Chinese Fireball and two Welsh Greens. Our local is Peruvian Vipertooth. Clear, sunny weather near a park, although other oddities are appearing out of normal times, so I don’t know if day or weather makes a difference.
EDIT: I tried two tonic for trace detection potions today – one from the same spot as yesterday, one from home. Both gave me about the same mix of oddities – Cerberus, werewolf, horned serpent, vampire, erkling. No dragons today, so far. A sample size of three isn’t very scientific, I know, but I hope the dragon release wasn’t concentrated at the beginning of the event !
A vampire. At 4:30 in the afternoon! The rare Daywalker vampire…
I got a Werewolf last evening in a first quarter moon, so that was great. Certain traces were also showing up with the potion’s effect on them, suggesting they were appearing because of the potion.
Definitely helped make it feel like the potion was doing something!
Guess imma be brewing those pots waiting for part 2. Got a doxy and a few doggies, that was nice!
Cerberus, werewolf, horned serpent, daytime doxies and vampire, erkling. No dragons
I doubt that the increased oddity spawns are due to the tonic. I’ve seen Pixies and Erklings and the occasional Opaleye in broad daylight without using the potion. Perhaps it’s just a quirk of the current Brilliant event?
Lucky! I played a couple hours today and didn’t have a tonic to use. I saw many oddities but they were all Erklings, Pixies, and one normal Death Eater.
I suspect the event has opened the doors for the oddities, but the trace potion increases odds of the more rare ones appearing.
Used one Trace yesterday in Belgium…got 1 doxy and one werewolf in the daytime…well happy
No dragons, but 4 Cerberus, 13 regular oddity Death Eaters, 2 regular oddity Azkaban escapees, 7 out-of-time-frame Doxies, 4 or 5 out-of-time-frame Werewolves and about a dozen Horned Serpents (which are relatively common here, though).
Daywalking vampires and werewolves, doxies at midday, and 3 headed dogs.
I just hope this improvement can last beyond this month brilliant event. Although I doubt it.
