Legends of Hogwarts Event

As soon as the Stronger United Week 2 Brilliant Event is over on Tuesday, November 26th at 11am PST, a new event will begin and last until Monday, December 2nd at 11am PST. In a new format for Harry Potter: Wizards Unite players, the Legends of Hogwarts event will showcase Foundables from the Legends of Hogwarts family Potions Classroom page. Throughout the event you will see increased frequencies of a young Harry Potter facing off with a Boggart Dementor, Severus Snape imprisoned in a large potion bottle, Sirius Black being assaulted by a Dementor, and poor Hedwig caught in a magical, windy vortex.

This event is not a Brilliant Event and will not feature tasks to complete for Restricted Section Books. Instead, the event is similar to what we have seen in the past for Community Days, but the benefits will last for six entire days instead of just three hours.

The following Foundables will have increased sightings during the event as well as an increased chance of being encountered when using the Tonic for Trace Detection:

The Tonic for Trace Detection is being featured for the duration of this event. You will:

  • have an increased chance of finding Legends of Hogwarts Potions Classroom Traces when using the Tonic for Trace Detection
  • experience increased effectiveness when applying Master Notes during brewing for Tonic for Trace Detection
  • see more Erumpent Horn Potion Ingredients on the map

Special Event Portkeys

Peculiar Portkey Portmanteau
  • Keep an eye out for special 1km Event Portkey Portmanteaus
  • 1km Portkeys, called Peculiar Portkey Portmanteaus, will appear on the map as an opalescent Portmanteau with golden trim.
  • Event Portkeys will transport you to a new location, Professor Snape’s Office
  • The Advanced Potion Making Book Foundable will have increased chances of appearing in Portkey rewards

Free Store Bundle

Be sure to visit Diagon Alley during the Legends of Hogwarts Event to redeem your Free Store Bundle:

  • one Tonic for Trace Detection
  • one Silver Key

Now is also a great time to use your Legends of Hogwarts Runestones and work towards those Fortress-exclusive Foundables. Even with the Advanced Potion Making Book Foundable appearing in Portkey rewards, it will still be the limiting factor to prestiging the Potions Classroom page multiple times. Wizarding Challenges can help you collect this Foundable.

Nice hints, thanks. Geee, now to walk all those 3km thingies to make some room…

Hey, any leaks as to whether the 1km P-au is going to be in any way distinctive on the map? Or is it going to be a lottery?

Quick impressions: so far, pretty disappointing. Tonic for Trace continues to be as useless as incense in Pokemon Go. More erumpent horns and 50% brewing time are irrelevant if the Tonic potion is no good. I have yet to see a Harry. Multiple Snapes, a few Siriuses, both of which I had filled out months ago. The Peculiar Portkeys have the same color as the Oceana portkeys I’ve been hoarding from Day of the Dragons in case I ever manage to prestige that page – not sure if they would work for this or not or if they will work… Read more »

Agreed! Glad I’m not the only one experiencing the complete lack of certain Foundables. Who doesn’t have Snape and Hedwig is just a one-shot so unless you’ve somehow prestiged that page (I’m 3/11 and 2/15 for the rarer Foundables on that page), then all they’re good for is XP and how is that any different from any other, random Foundable? Except that random Foundables have a chance of being something you actually need. Lawl. And you absolutely nailed it on the Tonic for Trace Detection – at least an incense is worth using in PoGo on the off chance it… Read more »

You’re forgetting that more H foundables means more H runestones, and so a greater chance to get the Potion Making book. I only have 23 H runestones, and they won’t last long, and I’ve been getting the book in something like 1 in 3 Fortress runs (oscillating around Forest II, depending on my energy and the need to burn potions). So I hit every H foundable I can see on map, and the tonic helps a bit. Not much, but it’s never been advertised as a game changer, rather as a percentage modifier. (Loved it most when it brought those… Read more »

I noticed that after I was able to get all of Sirius and Snape filled in Harry began to popped up here and there. I used the tonic here and there and now I have all three in one day all completed just need to get 5 more of the Avanced Potion Making and I should be able to go silver. What I’m saying is don’t give up try different locations and use the tonic it does work. Yes you get a lot of one or the other but it helps you reach prestige to gold. Just my opinion, everyone… Read more »

My biggest challenge is that bloody book. Anyone find a rhyme/reason to what chambers to try in fortresses? I’ve not been able to open many portkeys the past few days and I have some quality fortress opportunities coming up. I have yet to even achieve Bronze for that page.

You have to pickup the 1km peculiar portkey portmanteau and open them. That’s how I could get the book. Hope it helps

I was a little aggravated because I used a big H runestone in a Forest 1 chamber and I got….. a Yule Ball Program. NOT the Potion Making Book which I still need 7 more of. Have not gotten a chance to unlock the 1 km portkey yet to see if they help. But I will keep trying. I just thought that the point of this particular event was to help you specifically with the Potions Classroom page? So I didn’t understand giving me something for another page.

You get the missing PCs for the book with the 1km portkey.

Fortresses were not supposed to be tweaked in this respect, I think. I got all sorts of stuff for the other rooms as well, finally stopped when I realised that I kept getting mostly the signup sheet, which I had maxed earlier during this event. Portmanteaus were the way to go.

I’ve loved the event, I’ve managed to prestige to silver, and I’m trying to get enough books at least for gold. There’s no way I’ll get 49 Harrys in one day! I hope that this will be a regular thing. I would like a week or two between events, though, just to stock up on potions etc.

Same feelings here. Myself, I’m 6 Harrys away from silver, with a full stock of portmanteaus that will go to waste if I open them. Not sure how quickly I can get 6 Harrys in the wild now :-/
And I second what you say about needing at least a week of a neutral space between events.
