Brilliant Event Tasks

Most of these tasks have appeared before, but they aren’t too tedious. To prepare for the second set of tasks, do not visit the Brilliant Registry Page until you reach that step! Also, stop returning Brilliant Foundables once you reach 19 of either. Once you reach 20, you’re automatically taken to the Brilliant Registry Page, which you do not want.

To prepare for the Bonus Assignment, do not PLACE any Images on the new Brilliant Registry page until you reach that step.

Triwizarding Secrets Quest 1/4

These tasks are pretty much run-of-the-mill at this point in Brilliant Events. Brew your Potions in advance to work through these tasks quickly. Using the Tonic for Trace Detection Potions you have brewed should make it easy to get those Brilliant Mad-Eye Moody’s Eye Foundables you need to move on to Step 2!

Collect Ingredients or Portmanteaus 2 Times 2 Erumpent Horn Potion Ingredients
Brew 2 Tonics for Trace Detection 2 Powdered Dragon Claw Potion Ingredients
Return 12 Brilliant Mad-Eye Moody’s Eye Foundables 2 Invigoration Draught Potions

1st Quest Rewards

  • 550 Wizarding XP
  • 2 Restricted Section Books
  • 50 Brilliant Family XP
  • 10 Spell Energy

Triwizarding Secrets Quest 2/4

To collect Brilliant Triwizarding Secrets Runestones, visit the Brilliant Registry Page. Each time you level up, you collect a Runestone. To collect 5 of these quickly, do NOT visit the Brilliant Registry Page until you reach this step.

Earn 7000 Wizarding XP from Traces 1 Silver Key
Use Baruffio’s Brain Elixir 2 Times 1 Dark Detector
Collect 5 Brilliant Triwizarding Secrets Runestones 6 Snowdrop Potion Ingredients

2nd Quest Rewards

  • 750 Wizarding XP
  • 75 Brilliant Family XP
  • 3 Restricted Section Books
  • 10 Spell Energy

Triwizarding Secrets Quest 3/4

Brewing Potions is usually one of my least favorite tasks since it is mainly used as a time gate tactic. Renting the Gold Cauldron the day before the event and filling up the queue is a great way to knock this one out quickly, especially when used in tandem with a full regular Cauldron!

If you play your cards right, you can have only 1 Potion left to brew when you brew the 2 Tonic for Trace Detection Potions for Step 1.

For the Potions in Wizarding Challenges, any will work. You just earned 2 Invigoration Draughts, so you can drink those for this task.

Use 5 Potions in Wizarding Challenges 3 Leaping Toadstool
Brew 7 Potions 4 Snowdrop
Return 15 Brilliant Goblet of Fire Foundables 2 Dawdle Draught Potions

3rd Quest Rewards

  • 1250 Wizarding XP
  • 75 Brilliant Family XP
  • 5 Restricted Section Books
  • 10 Spell Energy

Triwizarding Secrets Quest 4/4

This task is all about Fortresses! Hop aboard the Knight Bus and find some new friends to play with! You can find other magical folks to play with by following the link to Discord below.

This task is easy to complete if you have unlocked Dark Chamber V and can find a group of others to join.

If you need help finding people, XpectoGO usually does a Wednesday livestream for Fortresses, and Brita is doing a Thursday livestream for Fortresses this month.

Complete 5 Wizarding Challenges with 3 or more Teammates 1 Spell Book
Defeat 25 Enemies in Wizarding Challenges 1 Spell Book
Earn 5000 Wizarding XP from Challenges 2 Spell Book

4th Quest Rewards

  • 5 Restricted Section Books
  • 50 Gold
  • 5 Defense Against the Dark Arts Books
  • 30 Spell Energy
  • 1 Barty Crouch Sr. Foundable Fragment

Triwizarding Secrets BONUS Assignment!

For using Exstimulo Potions in Wizarding Challenges, the regular ones are fine. You have to start the Potion in the Wizarding Challenge for it to count. The Potion can’t carry over from using it on a Trace.

HOWEVER, you can start the Potion in a Wizarding Challenge, and then allow it to carry over when you return to the Map. Then you can use it to return Foundables. If you’re a Professor, you can use Deterioration Hex on your Foes and let them knock themselves out. This goes fairly quickly in Ruins I. If you’re not a Professor, you can just back out of the Wizarding Challenge after starting the Exstimulo Potion. You lose a Brilliant Runestone, but you might prefer that to wasting an Exstimulo Potion.

The other option is to use Exstimulo Potions in the Forest Chambers when you’re battling a Foe you’re neutral or deficient against.

Casting 25 Great Spells is a repeat (of a repeat) from the last event. I know this can be a challenge for anyone with dexterity issues. My best advice is to use Tonic for Trace Detection and/or visit an area with a great deal of available Traces. Then prioritize any Traces with an easy spell, like Aguamenti or Meteolojinx Recanto.

If you’re worried about this task, do your best to hustle through the regular tasks. That gives you plenty of time to finish the Bonus Assignment by returning lots and lots of Foundables. You’re sure to cast 25 Great (or better) Spells if you just grind grind grind!

Place 5 Images on Brilliant Great Hall Registry Page 1 Spell Book
Earn 12,500 Wizarding XP from any source 1 Spell Book
Defeat Highest Chamber Unlocked 1 Time 1 Silver Key
Use Any 10 Exstimulo Potions in Wizarding Challenges 2 Wit-Sharpening Potions
Cast 25 Great (or better) Spells 10 Spell Energy

Bonus Assignment Rewards

  • 2000 Wizarding XP
  • 100 Brilliant Family XP
  • 5 Defense Against the Dark Arts Books
  • 1 Brilliant Event Title
  • 20 Spell Energy
  • 5 Fleur Delacour Brilliant Foundable Fragments

Brilliant Foundables and Where to Find Them

Just like previous Brilliant Events, you will only be able to encounter some of these Brilliant Foundables in the wild. The others are available as rewards for doing Wizarding Challenges with Brilliant Runestones and unlocking Brilliant Portkeys.

If you complete the entire Bonus Assignment, you do NOT need to unlock any Brilliant Portkeys.

Brilliant Where to find it Fragments to collect
Brilliant Goblet of Fire Wild Encounter 20
Brilliant Mad-Eye Moody’s Eye Wild Encounter 20
Brilliant Viktor Krum Wizarding Challenges (use an event Runestone) 3
Brilliant Fleur Delacour Brilliant Portkey Portmanteau 5
Brilliant Barty Crouch Sr. Brilliant Event Quest Reward 1

Tips to Complete the Brilliant Event

If this is your first Brilliant Event, these tips will help you complete the Brilliant Event before the time runs out. With careful planning, you can complete the Bonus Assignment as well!

  • As a reminder, Part 1 Portkeys will give you Part 1 Rewards anytime you open them, even if you wait to open them during Part 2. Brilliant Portkeys will glow purple on the Map. Be sure to pick up 5 Brilliant Portkeys during the Brilliant Event, even if you don’t open them all during the event.
  • If you are nervous about finding time to walk the Brilliant Portkeys, you can also earn the necessary Foundable Fragments by completing the Bonus Assignment.
  • To find the Brilliant Viktor Krum, you must do Wizarding Challenges with the specific Brilliant Event Runestones. To minimize your usage of Spell Energy, stick with the Ruins Chambers. It might take a few extra Wizarding Challenges to get the 3 Foundables you need, but you’ll be able to do so quickly, without expending too many resources.
  • If you decide to visit Inns, Fortresses, or Greenhouses during this event, continue to practice social distancing. Check out our previous article on staying safe while playing Wizards Unite.

Save your Scrolls and your Restricted Section Books until the end of the event. Then use our guide to spend them wisely! That said, most Aurors and Magizoologists have already earned all the necessary Restricted Section Books, and many Professors have also done so. At this point, you can invest your resources in Advanced Adversarial Combat, you can start working on a second profession, or you can invest in SOS Training. That is a personal decision, so good luck!

Brilliant Event Bundles

There are 4 bundles total that will be available during this event. Be sure to snag the Free Bundle as soon as the event starts! The Bonus Bundle will not be available until the Bonus Assignment is unlocked, so keep that in mind.

It looks like the Bonus Bundle *might* actually have value! I am always looking for ways to get Silver Keys, Baruffio’s Brain Elixir, and Potent Exstimulo Potions for cheap! Of course, sending and receiving those Gifts is a much easier way to acquire those items, so use your best judgment.

We are always interested to hear your thoughts! Connect with me and the rest of the WizHub team here in the comments or on our social media platforms.

Resource burn of Exstimulo potions going into an adversary event is really going to be a problem in the future I’m already trying to scale back use while brewing up as many as possible and it seems counter-intuitive to me to remove things from our inventory that we will really need for the next event.

Collect 5 Brilliant Hogwarts for the Holidays Runestones” typo? Somehow I doubt they want us to collect Hogwarts for the Holidays Runestones in the Triwizarding Secrets event

Good catch! I’ve updated that. To keep formatting consistent from post to post, we copy & paste the tables. Sometimes we miss a detail like that. Thanks for pointing it out!

Correct me if I’m wrong, I’m pretty sure that adversary encounters fall under “wizarding challenges” and extimulo potions used against adversaries count toward the bonus assignment task.

So do the exact same thing you have done for every months brilliant events. I’m glad they got rid of family xp but just seems like they could mix this stuff up. Make a new friend, send X amount of gifts, cast 5 different spells, use X amount of energy, get a fragment from 5 different families, battle in all 5 tower chambers.

Place 5 Images on Brilliant Great Hall Registry Page.

This one is the most annoying of them all. Just saving your images till you get there, but every time you collect one, going automatically to the registry page and having to close it. Really, really annoying.

I sure wish they’d drop this one from now on, never to return.

I think the problem isn’t the challenge, it’s forcing you to the registry page all the time. There are normal family images that I don’t place while I wait to collect that ‘one last fragment’ before I can prestige the page. There should be two buttons, one to go to the registry page and the other to go back to the map.

If you have been unlocking many Brilliant Portkeys and have plenty of time, then it is a good idea to delay collecting the final Bonus Assignment Rewards until you have 0 Brilliant Fleur Delacour fragments in the registry, such as just after you have unlocked 5 portkeys and placed her image. Otherwise any fragments you walked off before finishing the Bonus Assignment won’t count for anything. The same as for most week-long events.
