The second week of the Secrets Revealed Brilliant Event takes us to Aragog’s Lair in the Forbidden Forest as we spend more time reliving Harry’s memories from his second year at Hogwarts!
Greenglass refuses to divulge information on The Unforgivable, leaving Harry, Hermione, and Constance at a loss. Will the team be able to get through to Gareth and convince him to cooperate?
Secrets Revealed Brilliant Event Week 2 will be August 9 to August 16, 2021.
Note: Thank you Niantic and WB Games for providing this information early so Wizards Unite Hub could create this event guide.
Secrets Revealed Brilliant Event Part 2 Guide
As usual, this Brilliant Event has been adapted so you can play at home. Please follow local rules and regulations, and be respectful of other people and your surroundings. We are still in a global pandemic. Stay safe!
As a reminder, Part 1 Portkeys will give you Part 1 rewards anytime you open them, even if you waited to open them during Part 2. Keep an eye out for the Bonus Assignment that will be available to complete after the main tasks have been accomplished!

How to Prepare for the Brilliant Event
Most Wizards Unite events will be easier to complete if you work on your SOS Training. Unlock as many of these nodes as you can!
With a more potent Baruffio’s Brain Elixir, you can earn Wizarding XP more quickly.
With reduced brewing times for Exstimulo Potions and Healing Potions, you can complete Master Notes tasks more quickly.
With more Traces revealed by Tonic for Trace Detection, you can more quickly find Brilliant Traces (and Tom Riddle). This will help you complete tasks.

Brilliant Event Tasks
If you want to do the first quest quickly, pre-brew the Potions so they are ready to go at the start of the Event. After you collect the three needed for the task, DO NOT use Master Notes on the Potion in the Cauldron until you get to the second set of tasks.
Queue up Healing or regular Exstimulo Potions in your regular Cauldron because they have the shortest brewing time. That will speed you through the second quest. If you have Gold to spare, you can rent a second Cauldron too. The fact that the Master Notes task has been combined with collecting Runestones, however, means this task list will take you a while to grind out. As such, you may want to save your Gold and do all 5 Master Notes in your regular Cauldron.
To do the third quest more quickly, you’ll want to make use of Tonic for Trace Detection. Thankfully you can finish the second task along with the first, just cast Great spells when returning Brilliant Rubeus Hagrid! Beyond that, it’s a matter of deciding how many Wizarding Challenges you want to do in order to defeat enough Foes. Assess your Spell Energy and stock of Potions to figure out where best to devote your resources.
The fourth set of tasks is likely to frustrate many players. Placing the Registry Images is simple enough, and you’ll likely want to save your Brilliant Runestones until this step so you can place Brilliant Fang multiple times. You can speed your way to 7500 Wizarding XP with a Baruffio’s Brain Elixir. And use a combination of Tonic for Trace Detection and Trace Charms to help you collect enough Mysterious Fragments. The RNG on those will be unpredictable, so be patient, you’ll get them eventually.
There’s probably not a great way do the Bonus Assignment quickly. Drinking a Baruffio’s Brain Elixir will certainly help, but the need to return so many Foundables will take you a while. The 45 Brilliant Secrets Revealed Foundables task is a grind, there’s no way to avoid that. Hopefully you’ll get enough Tom Riddle Foundables along the way.
Secrets Revealed Quest 1/4
Collecting Ingredients, Portmanteaus, Spell Energy, or Seeds is pretty straightforward.
Pre-brew the Potions if you can, so you can collect them as soon as the event is active.
Use a Tonic for Trace Detection to find enough Brilliant Traces.
|Collect 3 Ingredients or Portmanteaus on the Map||6 Abraxan Hair|
|Brew 3 Potions||2 Re’em Blood|
|Return 12 Brilliant Acromantula Eggs Foundables||1 Strong Invigoration Draught|
1st Quest Rewards
- 550 Wizarding XP
- 2 Restricted Section Books
- 50 Brilliant Family XP
- 10 Spell Energy
Secrets Revealed Quest 2/4
Tom Riddle is an Emergency Foundable, so you may need to use an Exstimulo Potion or Dawdle Draught to help you return him.
Be sure to put Healing or regular Exstimulo Potions in your Cauldron to finish the Master Notes as quickly as possible.
You earn Brilliant Runestones by visiting the Brilliant Registry page and leveling up. Take another Tonic for Trace Detection to help you get enough Brilliant Foundables in order to earn those Runestones. If you have any leftover Runestones from Part 1, you can use them now to earn more Brilliant Family XP.
|Return 3 Tom Riddle Foundables||2 Exstimulo Potions|
|Use Master Notes 5 Times||3 Leaping Toadstool|
|Collect 6 Brilliant Secrets Revealed Runestones||5 Bitterroot|
2nd Quest Rewards
- 750 Wizarding XP
- 75 Brilliant Family XP
- 3 Restricted Section Books
- 10 Spell Energy
Secrets Revealed Quest 3/4
Hop on the Knight Bus. Ruins V to Tower II usually give you 3-4 Foes, so you can knock those out fairly quickly.
Drink another Tonic for Trace Detection (see why they always give you those Ingredients in the Free Store Pack?!) to help you find enough Brilliant Rubeus Hagrid Foundables AND be sure to cast Great Spells when you do!
Remember not to place any Images in the Registry until the fourth quest!
|Return 12 Brilliant Rubeus Hagrid Foundables||1 Silver Key|
|Cast 15 Great Spells (or Masterful)||6 Snowdrop|
|Defeat 15 Foes in Wizarding Challenges||2 Strong Exstimulo Potions|
3rd Quest Rewards
- 1250 Wizarding XP
- 75 Brilliant Family XP
- 5 Restricted Section Books
- 10 Spell Energy
Secrets Revealed Quest 4/4
Place the Registry Images you have ready to go. If you don’t have 5 yet, be sure to use Brilliant Runestones while
you’re earning the 7500 Wizarding XP from Challenges. You can place any of the Images multiple times, but Brilliant Fang can be placed more rapidly than the Foundables in the wild. Drink a Baruffio’s Brain Elixir to earn Wizarding XP more quickly, and then climb aboard the Knight Bus.
UPDATE: Do to an error, the task is now earn 200 Challenge XP.
And, yes, another Tonic for Trace Detection will help you get more Brilliant Foundables so you can collect the Mysterious Note pieces. Or you can use a Trace Charm, as now ANY Brilliant Foundable (not just Rubeus Hagrid or the Acromantula Eggs) will help you find what you need.
|Place 5 Brilliant Event Secrets Revealed Registry Images||1 Spell Book|
|Earn 200 Challenge XP||1 Spell Book|
|Collect 15 Mysterious Note Pieces by Returning Brilliant Secrets Revealed Foundables||1 Spell Book|
4th Quest Rewards
- 5 Restricted Section Books
- 50 Gold
- 5 Defense Against the Dark Arts Books
- 30 Spell Energy
- 1 Brilliant Aragog’s Children Registry Image
Secrets Revealed BONUS Assignment!
To earn 12,500 Wizarding XP quickly, once again, drink a Brain Elixir. Use your Trace Charm on every orange-red and red beam (Severe and Emergency Traces). If you can visit an Inn safely, stack Dark Detectors to attract a greater amount of high-threat Traces. Wait until you’re on the Bonus Assignment to open 20 Gifts, prioritizing any Extravagant Gifts and others with high Wizarding XP. Honestly, I can get the 12,500 Wizarding XP with a Brain Elixir and just a handful of Extravagant Gifts.
XpectoGO does Wednesday Knight Bus livestreams, and Witches Unite does Thursday Knight Bus livestreams, so if you’d like to try doing Wizarding Challenges with players who are serious and know their Fortress strategy, do join them!
If you don’t want to “waste” Potions just to complete one task, use an Edible Dark Mark. Then you’ll naturally use Potions on the Adversaries. Otherwise, just play normally, and use Potions as you might on a day-to-day basis. If you need to use a few extra Potions at the very end, challenge yourself as a solo player in a Wizarding Challenge.
Keep in mind, too, that you CANNOT use an Edible Dark Mark at the same time as a Tonic for Trace Detection.
|Return 7 Tom Riddle Foundables||1 Potent Exstimulo Potion|
|Return 45 Brilliant Secrets Revealed Foundables||1 Silver Key|
|Earn 12,500 Wizarding XP from Any Source||1 Spell Book|
|Defeat 15 Formidable Foes in Wizarding Challenges||10 Spell Energy|
|Use Any 10 Exstimulo Potions||2 Wit-Sharpening Potions|
Bonus Assignment Rewards
- 2000 Wizarding XP
- 100 Brilliant Family XP
- 5 Defense Against the Dark Arts Books
- 1 Brilliant Achievement Badge
- 20 Spell Energy
- 5 Brilliant Wild Weasleys’ Flying Car Registry Images
Brilliant Foundables and Where to Find Them
Just like previous Brilliant Events, you will only be able to encounter some of these Brilliant Foundables in the wild. The others are available as rewards for doing Wizarding Challenges with Brilliant Runestones and unlocking Brilliant Portkeys.
If you complete the Bonus Assignment, you do NOT need to unlock any Brilliant Portkeys.
|Brilliant||Where to Find it||Fragments to Collect|
|Brilliant Rubeus Hagrid||Wild Encounter||20|
|Brilliant Acromantula Eggs||Wild Encounter||20|
|Brilliant Fang||Wizarding Challenges (use an event Runestone)||3|
|Brilliant Wild Weasley’s Flying Car||Brilliant Portkey Portmanteau||5|
|Brilliant Aragog’s Children||Brilliant Event Quest Reward||1|
Tips to Complete the Brilliant Event
If this is your first Brilliant Event, these tips will help you complete the Brilliant Event before the time runs out. With careful planning, you can complete the Bonus Assignment as well!
- If you are below level 20 in Wizards Unite, you might want to use Exstimulo Potions on the Brilliant Foundables. Otherwise they will use a lot of Spell Energy to return, because they resist.
- As a reminder, Part 1 Portkeys will give you Part 1 Rewards anytime you open them, even if you waited to open them during Part 2. Brilliant Portkeys will glow purple on the Map. Be sure to pick up 5 Brilliant Portkeys during the Brilliant Event, even if you don’t open them all during the event.
- If you are nervous about finding time to walk the Brilliant Portkeys, you can also earn the necessary Foundable Fragments by completing the Bonus Assignment.
- To find the Brilliant Fang, you must do Wizarding Challenges with the specific Brilliant Event Runestones. To minimize your usage of Spell Energy, stick with Ruins IV-V Chambers. It might take a few extra Wizarding Challenges to get the 3 Fragments you need, but you’ll be able to do so quickly, without expending too many resources. If you’re low on Runestones, try Tower I-II Chambers to improve your odds of earning the required Fragments.
- If you decide to visit Inns, Fortresses, or Greenhouses during this event, continue to practice social distancing. Check out our previous article on staying safe while playing Wizards Unite.
- Save your Scrolls and your Restricted Section Books until the end of the event. Then use our guide to spend them wisely! That said, most Aurors and Magizoologists have already earned all the necessary Restricted Section Books, and many Professors have also done so. At this point, you can invest your resources in Advanced Adversarial Combat, you can start working on a second/third profession, or you can invest in SOS Training. That is a personal decision, so good luck!
Brilliant Event Bundles
There are 4 bundles total that will be available during this event. Be sure to snag the Free Bundle as soon as the event starts! The Bonus Bundle will not be available until the Bonus Assignment is unlocked, so keep that in mind.
First up, the SOS Bundle! This bundle keeps appearing in Brilliant Events: 5 Silver Keys and 100 Spell Energy for 450 Gold. I’m going to use the same math because it hasn’t changed either.
You can buy 10 Silver Keys for 720 Gold, making the individual value of each Silver Key 72 Gold. 5 Silver Keys is thus worth 360 Gold. If you only need Silver Keys, the SOS Bundle is not a good value.
100 Spell Energy costs 200 Gold, bringing the bundle value up to 560 Gold, a savings of 110 Gold. This bundle is only valuable if you need discounted Spell Energy.
Next up, the Brilliant Bundle! For 800 Gold, you get:
- 5 Baruffio’s Brain Elixirs
- 8 Exstimulo Potions
- 5 Tonics for Trace Detection
- 30 Spell Energy
A single Baruffio’s Brain Elixir costs 100 Gold in Diagon Alley. However, if you just need to buy the rare Ingredients, it’s a better deal to spend 20 Gold for 1 Dragon Claw and 12 Gold for 2 Toadstools, use Master Notes in the Cauldron, and then collect the Potion immediately for 62 Gold. So let’s put the value of Brain Elixirs at 94 Gold.
Thus 5 Brain Elixirs are worth 470 Gold.
A single Tonic for Trace Detection in Diagon Alley costs 60 Gold. However, you can also buy 4 for 220 Gold, so the individual value is 55 Gold.
Thus 5 Tonics are worth 275 Gold.
Normally I don’t recommend spending Gold on Exstimulo Potions or the Ingredients, because they’re relatively common. The other two potions are worth 745 Gold, however, just 55 Gold short of the price of the bundle. So if you think 30 Spell Energy plus 8 Exstimulo potions is worth 55 Gold to you then buy it. Especially if your Potions Vault is feeling empty after the Adversaries Event, or you’re a rural player who needs to conserve Spell Energy, this might be a good move for you.
Finally, the Bonus Assignment Bundle! This is similar to what we’ve seen in recent event bundles, but better. For 2100 Gold, you get:
- 6 Strong Exstimulo Potions
- 6 Potent Exstimulo Potions
- 10 Tonics for Trace Detection
- 10 Silver Keys
- 150 Spell Energy
Normally I don’t recommend spending Gold on Strong Exstimulo Potions or the Ingredients, because they’re relatively common. However, I realize many players are using these quickly with Adversaries, so Strong Exstimulo Potions have more value.
Looking at just Ingredients, it’s 3 Gold each per Snowdrop, Bitterroot, and Re’em Blood, plus 12 Gold for Abraxan Hair, so 36 Gold per Strong Exstimulo Potion.
Thus 6 Strong Potions are worth 216 Gold.
A single Potent Exstimulo Potion in Diagon Alley costs 75 Gold. However, if you have all of the common Ingredients, it’s a better deal to buy 1 Unicorn Hair for 30 Gold, use Master Notes in the Cauldron, and then collect the Potion immediately for 41 Gold. So let’s put the value of Potent Exstimulo Potions at 71 Gold.
Thus 6 Potent Potions cost 426 Gold.
The value of 10 Tonics is 550 Gold.
The value of 10 Silver Keys is 720 Gold.
For many players, this bundle is worth only 1912 Gold, not a good value. However, it’s a great value if you need discounted Spell Energy! I will also add that with the new 1920s Encounters coming soon, you’ll want to have plenty of Silver Keys on hand for the new Portkeys. You may decide to use the bundle as a way to stock up.
Final Brilliant Event Notes
Reminder! This Brilliant Event will run Monday to Monday.
If you’re short on Potions after the Adversaries Event, this one should not require too many of them. Yes, the Potions can speed things along, but aside from the task that requires you to use potions you can complete everything else without them. You just need access to a LOT of Spell Energy if you take that route.
