The nonstop events continue in Harry Potter: Wizards Unite with the upcoming November Community Day. This will center around the Chess Chamber in the Legends of Hogwarts family.

Note: Thank you Niantic and WB Games for providing this information early so Wizards Unite Hub could create this event guide.

I’m pretty excited for the single-page focus since it will give players the chance to prestige. I’ve been stuck on Bronze for SO LONG because I need a few more Wizard Chess Queens.

This Wizards Unite guide will go over all the Community Day details, including tasks, rewards, and strategic tips! Like most 2020 Wizards Unite events, Community Day has been adapted to play at home.

If you’re curious about other Wizards Unite events in November, check out our monthly calendar.

Wizards Unite Community Day November 2020

This month’s Community Day will be similar to most Community Day events in recent months. As already mentioned, all the Foundables from a single page will be boosted, making it easier for players to prestige a gold frame. However, this event will also include some fun tweaks to Wizarding Challenge rewards!

Keep reading for an event overview, tasks and rewards, and helpful advice. I’ve also covered the Wizards Unite Community details in my latest video!

November 2020 Community Day Tasks

Like all recent Community Day events, this event includes a special set of tasks and rewards. These tasks should be incredibly doable, especially considering you have a FULL day to get them all done.

The HPWU devs have also taken into account player feedback. Recent events have shown a higher Trace density of event Traces, making it easier to complete tasks, even without grinding.

Use 7 Exstimulo Potions (any) 1 Silver Key

Preparing for Wizards Unite Community Day

November’s Community Day is extremely similar to recent Wizards Unite Community Days, just focused on a different Foundable Family. AND tasks should be more manageable this time. I’d rather return 15 Young Ron Weasley Foundables than 30 Prophecy Orb Foundables any day!

Players have incentives to return Foundables AND to complete Wizarding Challenges AND to unlock Portkeys! This makes the event customizable to your personal goals. Here are a few tips to prepare over the next week.

Do your best to open Portkeys before Community Day starts so you have room to pick up 1km Portkeys. These will contain Flying Key fragments, so you want to collect as many as you can!

If you can safely and legally walk around a park or your neighborhood, that’s a great option to unlock Portkeys. Please be mindful of any local shutdown orders, as well as any inclement weather in your area.

Stock up on Ingredients for Tonic for Trace Detection! With the reduced brewing time, this is an opportunity to rebuild your Potions supplies.

These are all the Ingredients you need for Tonic for Trace Detection.

Baneberry Bulbadox Juice Angel’s Trumpet Erumpent Horn

While these Ingredients are still boosted under the “play at home” changes, I’m aware that many players don’t have any Ingredients at home.

If you can safely stop somewhere with a lot of Wizards Unite activity, do so on the way to the grocery store on your next trip.

You can also ask your friends to send you Ingredient Gifts.

To maximize your Tonic benefits, consider unlocking a few helpful nodes in your SOS Training. Each of these will allow your Tonic to reveal additional Traces.

  • Stir Crazy
  • Concentrated Concoction
  • Trained For This

You should also consider brewing some Dawdle Draught. Albus Dumbledore is an Emergency-threat Foundable, so you might want a few Dawdle Draughts on hand to return him!

These are the Ingredients you need for Dawdle Draught.

Valerian Root Sopophorous Bean Butterscotch Hermit Crab Shell

You will also want a few Baruffio’s Brain Elixirs. With boosted Severe and Emergency Foundables, this is a great opportunity to grind Wizarding XP!

These are the Ingredients you need for Brain Elixir.

Leaping Toadstool Frog Brain Runespoor Eggs Powdered Dragon Claw

To maximize your Brain Elixir benefits, consider unlocking a few helpful nodes in your SOS Training.

These SOS Training Lessons improve Brain Elixir potency, meaning you earn even more Wizarding XP.

  • Start a Movement
  • Sous Vide
  • Clear Your Mind

These SOS Training Lessons lengthen the Potion duration. Each of these adds 5 additional minutes.

  • A Wing and a Flare
  • Temp Work
  • Bottoms Up

Finally, try to stock up on the Ingredients for Exstimulo Potions. You will want a few Strong and Potent Exstimulo Potions already on hand to help with Albus Dumbledore and Young Hermione Granger, but mostly focus on stockpiling Ingredients to take advantage of enhanced Master Notes.

This quick chart shows which Ingredients you need for the entire Exstimulo family.

Shared between all Exstimulo Potions Bitter Root
Re’em blood
Additional Exstimulo Potion ingredient Granian Hair
Additional Strong Exstimulo Potion ingredient Abraxan Hair
Additional Potent Exstimulo Potion ingredient Unicorn Hair

Tips for Enjoying November’s Community Day

This is another Wizards Unite Community Day that will be completely playable at home, but that doesn’t mean you can’t play with other people! I’m chatting with the WUtubers to see if we can make a livestream happen.

Depending on what COVID-19 looks like in your local area, you might be able to meet up with other players safely in an outdoor location. Everyone should wear masks, carry hand sanitizer, and avoid shaking hands or hugging. Check out our previous guide on playing Wizards Unite safely. If you can do this, I highly recommend coordinating Wizarding Challenges at a local Fortress.

A Note on the Knight Bus

If you’re taking the Knight Bus to do Wizarding Challenges, then keep in mind that the player who starts the Chamber determines whether or not the players can earn Community Day bonuses. This was true during previous Community Day events, but I know it’s a bit confusing.

Wizards Unite Community Day is based on local times. However, when taking the Knight Bus, you can randomly play with witches and wizards around the world. This means that if Community Day is NOT active in your timezone, but you enter a Chamber started by a player where Community Day is active, then you can enjoy the Community Day bonuses.

Once Community Day is active in your area, then you should coordinate with friends to get the Community Day bonuses. Or you’ll want to start the Chamber yourself to guarantee the bonuses.

Community Day Bundles

In addition to the free store pack, you also have the option of buying special bundles. This graphic is courtesy of Orange Wizard.

November 2020 Community Day bundles Wizards Unite

SOS Bundle up first! This is identical to what we saw for July’s Community Day, as well as the September Makeup Community Day, so I’m using about the same logic. This bundle includes:

  • 2 Tonics for Trace Detection
  • 5 Silver Keys
  • 50 Spell Energy

A single Tonic for Trace Detection in Diagon Alley costs 60 Gold. However, you can also buy 4 for 220 Gold, so the individual value is 55 Gold. The value of 2 Tonics is thus 110 Gold. 50 Spell Energy costs 100 Gold. By breaking down the individual cost of Silver Keys in Diagon Alley, they are worth 81.25 Gold each, or about 406 Gold for 5.

Thus, the value of the SOS Bundle is about 616 Gold if you want discounted Spell Energy, or 516 Gold if you don’t value Spell Energy. If you only need Silver Keys, the value is only about 406 Gold and not worth it.

What about the Community Day Bundle? This includes:

  • 5 Level 4 Legends of Hogwarts Runestones
  • 1 Dawdle Draught
  • 5 Exstimulo Potions
  • 5 Potent Exstimulo Potions

Using the cost breakdown from Andolov, we can assume that 5 Level 4 Runestones are worth 50 Gold.

I haven’t calculated the value of Dawdle Draught before, so this is fun! You can buy 10 Dawdle Draughts for 800 Gold, making the cost in Diagon Alley 80 Gold per Potion. However, if you’re just missing the 1 Hermit Crab Shell, you can spend 6 Gold for that rare Ingredient, and then spend 31 Gold to collect the Potion immediately (after using Master Notes).

However, if you have all of the common Ingredients, it’s a better deal to buy 1 Hermit Crab Shell for 6 Gold, use Master Notes in the Cauldron, and then collect the Potion immediately for 31 Gold. So let’s put the value of one Dawdle Draught at 37 Gold.

Regular Exstimulo Potions use common Ingredients. Players shouldn’t ever spend money on these Potions.

A single Potent Exstimulo Potion in Diagon Alley costs 75 Gold. However, if you have all of the common Ingredients, it’s a better deal to buy 1 Unicorn Hair for 30 Gold, use Master Notes in the Cauldron, and then collect the Potion immediately for 41 Gold. So let’s put the value of Potent Exstimulo Potions at 71 Gold.

Thus 6 Potent Potions are worth 355 Gold.

The overall value of the Community Day Bundle is 442 Gold (plus 5 Exstimulo Potions), a savings of 22 Gold. This is not a great deal, unless you never have Unicorn Hair or Hermit Crab Shells.

Final Community Day Notes

Playing outside? Be sure to carry an extra battery pack or two, plus charging cables. Need a new battery pack? I’ve put together a list of the top-rated options on Amazon!

Be sure to have an EMPTY Potions queue before Community Day starts (or you wake up) so that you can fill it up with Tonic for Trace Detection and Exstimulo Potions. Stack your queue at the end of the day to take advantage of reduced brewing time after Community Day.

I hope this Wizards Unite Community Day guide has been helpful! Let me know if there’s anything else you’d like to see in future guides.

Spent the last 2 nights doing challenged and was able to prestige out Wizard Chess Queen and Flying Key at silver levels so the increased wild spawns will get me to gold fairly quick hopefully. Also glad they upped the book count from the last event, grinding books is a pain as it is, they don’t need to nerf DADA’s

It would be great if you could include images of the traces featured during the event in this and similar articles. You do this for brilliant events only!

How far is everyone with prestiging every page? I’m since the Young Harry event done with all except the eggs from Odities 3 & 4. I’m now only playing the events for the DADA books and the other books for the training… Also just saving all silver keys for the next event with dragon eggs!

I’m gold on most pages, including the Chess Chamber. The silver ones are just waiting on challenge fragments. Because those are SO hard to come by! (At least for me; I either get nothing, or not the ones I need.)

I’m pretty much silver and above except for a few odditys and the wizarding challenges pages, only gold on the first 2 sets right now.

Sitting on 20 keys for the next dragon event, had 40 before the last but only used 30 of them incase they bring back the need to walk 10 ports on the bonus quests like they were doing pre-covid which was a pain.

I appreciate the suggestions for SoS training lessons, but it would be a lot more helpful if you included which section of the training in which they can be found (i.e. Calamity Essentials I, II, or III) – it would be even more helpful if you could include a screenshot of where in the skill tree they are because it’s very difficult to navigate. That’s not your fault, of course. And I would say, “I hope the devs can find some way to make everything in the skill trees easier to parse”, but seeing as they *still* haven’t fixed the… Read more »
