Adversaries Event Tasks and Rewards
Tasks are fairly similar to the most recent Adversaries Events. Rewards are identical.
Unfortunately, you cannot complete all of the event tasks entirely from home if you don’t have any game activity at your house. My hopeful silver lining is that many players now have extra Edible Dark Marks saved up from past events.
Quest Step | Reward |
Use Master Notes 8 times | 2 Strong Exstimulo Potions |
Defeat 13 Leprechauns | 10 Gold |
Complete Forest Chamber IV or Higher 3 Times | 6 Snowdrop |
Use 10 Exstimulo Potions (any) against Adversaries | 20 Spell Energy |
Earn 1500 Challenge XP through Wizarding Challenges and/or Adversary Chains | 1 Silver Key |
Deal 25,000 Damage to Adversaries | 1 DADA Book |
Defeat Narcissa 4 Times | 1 DADA Book |
Return 20 Artefact fragments from Narcissa Chain | 1 DADA Book |
Overall rewards:
- 5 Defense Against the Dark Arts Books
- 1 Edible Dark Mark
- 500 Wizarding XP
- 60 Gold
- 30 Spell Energy
How to Prepare for March’s Adversaries Event
Honestly, my advice remains unchanged. First, if you haven’t already completed a Profession Lesson Plan, work on that. It’s better to focus on a single Profession than spend Spell Books and Restricted Section Books on multiple Professions.
Then, work through the nodes in the Advanced Adversarial Combat. The Precision nodes (on the right) increase your chances of getting a Critical Hit (inflicting more Damage). The Dodge nodes (on the left) increase your chances of dodging (taking no Damage).
I recommend unlocking the initial 4 Precision nodes and then the initial 4 Dodge nodes. You will see results with Critical Hits quickly.
Finally, strengthen your Potions through SOS Training. This chart indicates the different nodes and their locations to strengthen your Potions. Most of these nodes increase a Potion’s potency, but I’ve bolded the ones that add an additional use or charge to your Potion.
Location | Node | Effect |
CE I,5 | Engarde! | Exstimulo Potion Potency Increase |
CE I,9 | Brunch or Linner? | Exstimulo Potion Potency Increase |
CE II,22 | Was Mundungus Here? | Exstimulo Potion Potency Increase |
CE I,12 | Awesome Blossom | Exstimulo Potion Duration Increase |
CE I,8 | Twisting Spleens | Healing Potion Potency Increase |
CE I,9 | Name in the Paper! | Healing Potion Potency Increase |
CE II,15 | Muggle Medicines | Healing Potion Potency Increase |
CE I,8 | Hand in Hand | Strong Exstimulo Potion Potency Increase |
CE II,17 | St. Mungos | Strong Exstimulo Potion Potency Increase |
CE II,28 | Ebb and Neap | Strong Exstimulo Potion Potency Increase |
CE I,20 | Ice Cream Social | Strong Exstimulo Potion Duration Increase |
CE I,12 | Volunteer Work | Potent Exstimulo Potion Potency Increase |
CE II,32 | Light My Fire | Potent Exstimulo Potion Potency Increase |
CE III,38 | Tempermental Cauldrons | Potent Exstimulo Potion Potency Increase |
CE III,42 | Wasted on the Old | Potent Exstimulo Potion Duration Increase |
CE II,22 | Whetstone for the Mind | Wit-Sharpening Potion Potency Increase |
CD II,32 | Recipe Recitation | Wit-Sharpening Potion Potency Increase |
CE II,40 | I’ll Be the Knight | Wit-Sharpening Potion Potency Increase |
CE II,32 | Wit Beyond Leisure | Wit-Sharpening Potion Duration Increase |
Start brewing Healing Potions! Narcissa Malfoy deals 32-46 Damage each time, and you don’t want to lose because she hits you 4 times in a row. Remember that the Healing Potion must be used while you are playing “offense.” The Potions button briefly disappears when you are casting Protego.
Start collecting Ingredients for Exstimulo Potions and Wit-Sharpening Potions. You’ll want a good stockpile of these to take advantage of the reduced brewing time with Master Notes.
Brew many Exstimulo Potions and Wit-Sharpening Potions in advance. You’ll want these on hand immediately when the event begins, especially if you haven’t progressed far in Advanced Adversarial Combat.
Open up your maximum Gifts each day, prioritizing Gifts that give you the aforementioned Potions and/or Ingredients.
Fill up on Spell Energy! Even when using Potions, you go through Spell Energy quickly to defeat Adversaries.
If you have extra Gold available, purchase Vault Extensions. The ability to hold more Spell Energy, Ingredients, and Potions will help you prepare for resource-intense events like this one.
The Problem for Rural Players at Home
Players only get a single Edible Dark Mark in the free store pack. Task rewards do not include an additional Edible Dark Mark.
If you are playing at home, and you don’t get Adversaries on the Map, you cannot complete this event. Not even close.
Tasks require you to complete 5 Narcissa Adversary chains. Even with perfect RNG on the EDM, you will only see 3 Narcissa Adversaries.
As I already mentioned, I do hope that after a few months of Adversaries, players will have a few EDMs stockpiled, which should make this event possibly doable.
Tips to Enjoy the Adversaries Event
This advice assumes you get Traces at your home, or you’re able to visit an area with Wizards Unite activity on the Map. Please stay safe, no matter what you do.
To place all of the Images on the Adversary pages, you need fewer of the final Adversary than you do of the Artefacts. As noted in the screenshot below, you need 9 Narcissa Images to place, but up to 15 Images of certain Artefacts.
If you are low on Spell Energy and/or Potions, you can work to prestige your Registry pages while still conserving resources. Once you have placed Narcissa, and you have returned her enough times to place again, back out from future Adversary chains after you defeat the Guards. You will still receive Artefact Fragments by defeating the Guards.
However, this strategy does mean you earn less DADA Books. It’s up to you if you want to prioritize grinding DADA Books or prestiging pages.
If you really want to grind DADA Books, your best strategy involves going to an area with multiple POIs in the game. Plant Snowdrop or Wormwood at a Greenhouse. Walk from Inn to Inn if available, or sit by an Inn if you just have one. Replenish your Spell Energy between Adversary Encounters. Use an EDM for 3 additional Adversaries every 30 minutes.
Also keep a close eye on your Potions so you can collect new ones immediately and use Master Notes on the next one. Keep brewing Potions constantly.
Adversaries Event Bundles
Like all Wizards Unite events, this Adversaries Event will feature store bundles. The free store pack includes an Edible Dark Mark! One bundle is the same as last month, but the other is a bit different.
The free store pack includes:
- 1 Edible Dark Mark
- 2 Healing Potions
- 1 Exstimulo Potion
- 30 Spell Energy
The Arresto Adversary Bundle includes:
- 3 Edible Dark Marks
- 125 Spell Energy
Is this bundle a good deal?
You can buy 5 Edible Dark Marks for 1200 Gold, making the individual value 240 Gold. Thus the value of 3 Edible Dark Marks is 720 Gold. If you only want discounted Edible Dark Marks, this bundle is not a good value. If you want discounted Spell Energy, then the bundle is a decent deal.
The Adversary Vanquisher Trunk includes:
- 5 Edible Dark Marks
- 125 Spell Energy
- 5 Potent Exstimulo Potions
- 7 Strong Exstimulo Potions
- 10 Exstimulo Potions
5 Edible Dark Marks cost 1200 Gold.
A single Potent Exstimulo Potion in Diagon Alley costs 75 Gold. However, if you have all of the common Ingredients, it’s a better deal to buy 1 Unicorn Hair for 30 Gold, use Master Notes in the Cauldron, and then collect the Potion immediately for 41 Gold. So let’s put the value of Potent Exstimulo Potions at 71 Gold.
5 Potent Potions is worth 355 Gold.
Strong Exstimulo Potions and regular Exstimulo Potions all have common Ingredients, so players shouldn’t spend money on them.
The value of this bundle before Spell Energy is 1555 Gold.
Even with the added value of the Strong Exstimulo Potions (3 Gold each per Snowdrop, Bitterroot, and Re’em Blood, plus 12 Gold for Abraxan Hair, so 36 Gold per Potion or 252 Gold total), it’s still not a good value.
Ultimately, only you can decide if the bundles are worth it to you. I recommend saving your Gold for Vault Extensions. However, if you are truly playing from home right now, and you have very little Map activity, then discounted Spell Energy and Potions will be more valuable to you.
Final Adversaries Event Notes
Keep in mind this is the first of 2 Adversaries Events in March. This event will be a weekday event, while the other event will be over the weekend.
Playing outside? Be sure to carry an extra battery pack or two, plus charging cables. Need a new battery pack? I’ve put together a list of the top-rated options on Amazon!

It would be really awesome if they added EDM gifts!
I have used well over 10 estimillo potions but the rewards are not updating!
I updated the article, posted to Twitter, Facebook, and Discord, that only Exstimulo Potions in Adversary chains would count. Unfortunately the HPWU team shared this at the last-minute, and the in-game text was not clear.
Unable to enter Forest chamber IV. I select it, then runestone and it kicks me back out to the chamber list.
I think the event task list description for exstimulo potions is wrong. The only uses that are counting towards this task are potions used during adversary battles – not when used during fortress battles or traces.
