It’s March in Harry Potter: Wizards Unite! With Spring Break upon us in the United States, witches and wizards have REALLY kicked back under the influence of Butterbeer and Firewhisky.
Unfortunately, the Ministry of Magic has caught wind of illicit fireworks shows, reports of shooting stars, and loud Quidditch after-parties. We have received an *ahem* “invitation” to join them in Courtroom Ten this weekend to commit to Community (Service) Day by returning Foundables that have run amok.
This month’s calendar was released about 5 seconds ago (half way through the month) so make sure you check out the March Guide for Wizards Unite as well!
Note: Thank you Niantic and WB Games for providing Wizards Unite Hub with early information so we can create Wizards Unite guides.

March 2021 Community Day Tasks
At this point, I’m literally just copy/pasting old tasks from last CD to this month. Remember that thing you did last time? Just do that again. *salt intensifies*
HOWEVER, if you need a break from Wizards Unite, this is a good event to skip. Long-term players have most likely already prestiged the Courtroom Ten to Gold, so it’s not a big deal if you don’t get those boosted Foundables.
That said, “farming” Foundables several times will help you grind Family XP quickly, giving you more opportunities to earn Field Charm charges and Gold Gifts (if you’ve unlocked Preferred Client). Plus the task rewards include some Potions you might have depleted during the Adversaries Event.
|Use Master Notes 4 Times||1 Healing Potion|
|Return 25 Arthur Weasley Foundables||8 Ginger Root|
|Return 20 Nymphadora Tonks Foundables||2 Strong Exstimulo Potions|
|Earn 975 Ministry of Magic Family XP||1 Silver Key|
|Collect 7 Wizengamot Accusation Chair Fragments by using Ministry of Magic Runestones||20 Spell Energy|
|Place 2 Images in the Courtroom Ten Family Registry||1 Silver Key|
- 3 Defense Against the Dark Arts Books
- 3 Spell Books
- 40 Gold
- 200 Wizarding XP
- 20 Spell Energy
Preparing for Wizards Unite Community Day
March’s Community Day is just the same event as recent Wizards Unite Community Days, just focused on a different Foundable Family. Players have incentives to return Foundables AND to complete Wizarding Challenges AND to unlock Portkeys! Here are a few tips to prepare over the next few days.
PS: I’m just going to let Brita’s hard work carry you through the rest of this thing. Again, it’s last month *but* this month. Get it?
Do your best to open Portkeys before Community Day starts so you have room to pick up 1km Portkeys. These will contain Ministry Visitor’s Entrance Fragments, so you want to collect as many as you can!
If you can safely and legally walk around a park or your neighborhood, that’s a great option to unlock Portkeys.
Stock up on Ingredients for Tonic for Trace Detection! With the reduced brewing time, this is an opportunity to rebuild your Potions supplies.
These are all the Ingredients you need for Tonic for Trace Detection.
|Baneberry||Bulbadox Juice||Angel’s Trumpet||Erumpent Horn|
While these Ingredients are still boosted under the “play at home” changes, I’m aware that many players don’t have any Ingredients at home.
If you can safely stop somewhere with a lot of Wizards Unite activity, do so on the way to the grocery store on your next trip.
You can also ask your friends to send you Ingredient Gifts and Tonic for Trace Detection Gifts.
To maximize your Tonic benefits, consider unlocking a few helpful nodes in your SOS Training. Each of these will allow your Tonic to reveal additional Traces.
- Stir Crazy (I, 7)
- Concentrated Concoction (II, 25)
- Trained For This (III, 38)
Finally, try to stock up on Exstimulo Potions. You might want to use these on Mad-Eye Moody or Nymphadora Tonks, especially if you’re under level 40 in the game. I realize this will be a challenge, since most of us will use up our stock during the Adversaries Event.
This quick chart shows which Ingredients you need for the entire Exstimulo family.
|Shared between all Exstimulo Potions||Bitter Root
|Additional Exstimulo Potion ingredient||Granian Hair|
|Additional Strong Exstimulo Potion ingredient||Abraxan Hair|
|Additional Potent Exstimulo Potion ingredient||Unicorn Hair|
If you still need Wizengamot Accusation Chair and/or Ministry Visitor’s Entrance Fragments, do Wizarding Challenges with a Ministry of Magic Runestone. While you will have the ability to earn these on Community Day, it will be easier to prestige the Courtroom Ten page if you have some of these Fragments in advance.
Repeat Image Collection
Return any Ministry of Magic Foundables you see on the Map. If any of these Images are ready to place in your Registry, STOP. Wait until the event begins. Then you can place the Image to quickly to earn Family XP. This is especially important for any Images ready to place on Courtroom Ten.
Tips for Enjoying
February’s March’s Community Day
This is another Wizards Unite Community Day that will be completely playable at home, but that doesn’t mean you can’t play with other people! Several WUtubers will do livestreams during the day.
You can also consider meeting up with a local community in an outdoor location. Everyone should wear masks, carry hand sanitizer, and avoid shaking hands or hugging. Check out our previous guide on playing Wizards Unite safely. If you can do this, I highly recommend coordinating Wizarding Challenges at a local Fortress, especially with the Knight Bus issues noted below.
A Note on the Knight Bus
If you’re taking the Knight Bus to do Wizarding Challenges, then keep in mind that the player who starts the Chamber determines whether or not the players can earn Community Day bonuses. This was true during previous Community Day events, but I know it’s a bit confusing.
Wizards Unite Community Day is based on local times. However, when taking the Knight Bus, you can randomly play with witches and wizards around the world. This means that if Community Day is NOT active in your timezone, but you enter a Chamber started by a player where Community Day is active, then you have the increased odds of earning a guaranteed Fragment in Forest IV and above. (You can also enjoy the other Community Day bonuses).
Once Community Day is active in your area, if you’re doing Wizarding Challenges in Forest IV or higher, then you should coordinate with friends to get the Community Day bonuses. Or you’ll want to start the Chamber yourself to guarantee access.
THAT SAID, recent events in local times, like Snape’s Birthday, have been extra-confusing in regards to the Knight Bus. Even with the starting player having the event active, not all players have received event rewards.
Repeat Image Collection
With RIC, you need to be strategic if you want to prestige the Courtroom Ten page multiple times. If you have already placed a Foundable in your Registry, as indicated by the green and white star, do NOT place it again! I know it’s hard to resist that enticing shimmer, but wait. After you have enough Fragments for all of the Courtroom Ten page, you can prestige the page. Those extra Fragments on any Foundable marked by the green and white star will roll over to the next frame, making it easier to prestige the page again.
That said, if you still need many more Fragments to place the other Images on the page, you might want to go ahead and place the Image to earn the Family XP.
Earning Family XP
Brita also has a detailed video on grinding Family XP. This will help you complete the event task, plus grind for Treasure Trunks!
Community Day Bundles
SOS Bundle up first! This is identical to what we have seen for multiple Community Days past, so I’m using about the same logic. This bundle includes:
- 2 Tonics for Trace Detection
- 5 Silver Keys
- 50 Spell Energy
A single Tonic for Trace Detection in Diagon Alley costs 60 Gold. However, you can also buy 4 for 220 Gold, so the individual value is 55 Gold. The value of 2 Tonics is thus 110 Gold. 50 Spell Energy costs 100 Gold. By breaking down the individual cost of Silver Keys in Diagon Alley, they are worth 72 Gold each, or 360 Gold for 5.
Thus, the value of the SOS Bundle is about 570 Gold if you want discounted Spell Energy, or 470 Gold if you don’t value Spell Energy. If you only need Silver Keys, the value is only about 360 Gold and not worth it.
What about the Community Day Bundle? This includes:
- 5 Level 4 Ministry of Magic Runestones
- 20 Spell Energy
- 7 Exstimulo Potions
- 7 Strong Exstimulo Potions
Using the cost breakdown from Andolov, we can assume that 5 Level 4 Runestones are worth 50 Gold.
Both regular Exstimulo Potions and Strong Exstimulo Potions use common Ingredients. Players shouldn’t ever spend money on these Potions. The exception is if you are truly playing at home, and you have very little Map activity.
In that case, the added value of the Strong Exstimulo Potions is 252 Gold based on Ingredients (3 Gold each per Snowdrop, Bitterroot, and Re’em Blood, plus 12 Gold for Abraxan Hair, or 36 Gold per Potion).
The added value of Exstimulo Potions is 84 Gold (3 Gold each per Snowdrop, Bitterrot, Re’em Blood, and Granian Hair, or 12 Gold per Potion).
That is still only a value of 386 Gold before Spell Energy, so still not a great deal.
Final Community Day Notes
Playing outside? Be sure to carry an extra battery pack or two, plus charging cables. Need a new battery pack? Brita’s put together a list of the top-rated options on Amazon!
Be sure to have an EMPTY Potions queue before Community Day starts (or you wake up) so that you can fill it up with Tonic for Trace Detection. Stack your queue at the end of the day to take advantage of reduced brewing time after Community Day.
I hope this Wizards Unite Community Day guide has been helpful! Let me know if there’s anything else you’d like to see in future guides.
