Keep in mind that this Brilliant Event will only be 5 days! Thankfully, the tasks have been adjusted to take that into account. Additionally, several of the rewards have been increased to help make up for the lost rewards from the Bellatrix Lestrange and Lord Voldemort Lethal Events that were cancelled earlier this month.

Finally, the second week will begin immediately after the first week. The final two Brilliant Events, ever, will finish out 2021.

The Battle for Secrecy Brilliant Event Part 1 Guide

This Brilliant Event has been adapted so you can play at home.

As a reminder, Part 1 Portkeys will give you Part 1 rewards anytime you open them, even if you wait to open them during Part 2.

If you don’t want to walk off Portkeys, you can also complete the Bonus Assignment.

Find Brilliant Event preparation tips at the end of the article. These are particularly helpful for newer players.

Brilliant Event Tasks

Nothing is too original in the tasks, though they HAVE been adapted to finish in 5 days.

The first quest requires doing Master Notes.

After doing Master Notes for the first quest, do not collect any Potions. You need to brew 3 Potions for the third quest.

Do not visit the Brilliant Registry until you reach the third quest. You need to collect Brilliant Runestones here.

Also, stop returning Brilliant Foundables if you reach 19 of either while doing the first quest. Once you reach 20, you’re automatically taken to the Brilliant Registry Page, which you do not want. If you forget, quickly force close the app to avoid collecting any Brilliant Runestones.

For the Bonus Assignment, you need to place Images in the Brilliant Registry. To do this quickly, wait until you have collected the rewards from your fourth quest before you place any Images.

The Battle for Secrecy Quest 1/4

Collecting Ingredients, Portmanteaus, or Spell Energy is pretty straightforward.

Use a Tonic for Trace Detection to find enough Brilliant Traces.

While the final task is worded to return Foundables, lately that task has been the same as recovering Fragments. If this holds true, you use a Trace Charm to earn additional Fragments and can therefore complete the task more quickly.

Collect 3 Ingredients or Portmanteaus on the Map 25 Gold
Use Master Notes 1 Time 25 Gold
Return 8 Brilliant Snatcher Foundables 6 Healing Potions

1st Quest Rewards

  • 550 Wizarding XP
  • 5 Restricted Section Books
  • 50 Brilliant Family XP
  • 10 Spell Energy

The Battle for Secrecy Quest 2/4

These tasks go together quite nicely. Tonic for Trace Detection should help you find both Legends of Hogwarts and Brilliant Young Hermione Granger Traces.

Same note about Brilliant Young Hermione Granger. A Trace Charm might help.

Return 12 Legends of Hogwarts Foundables 50 Gold
Use 1 Tonic for Trace Detection 3 Exstimulo Potions
Recover 10 Brilliant Young Hermione Granger Fragments 50 Gold

2nd Quest Rewards

  • 750 Wizarding XP
  • 75 Brilliant Family XP
  • 5 Restricted Section Books
  • 10 Spell Energy

The Battle for Secrecy Quest 3/4

As already stated, you can brew your Potions in advance. When you collect them, you get credit for the task. If you’re trying to finish the tasks quickly, brew Healing Potions or regular Exstimulo Potions.

Visit the Brilliant Registry to collect Brilliant Runestones. As long as you avoided it before this quest, you should have enough Brilliant Family XP to collect 3 Runestones.

Drink a Baruffio’s Brain Elixir and take the Knight Bus.

Brew 3 Potions 5 Strong Exstimulo Potions
Collect 3 Brilliant The Battle for Secrecy Runestones 75 Gold
Earn 5000 Wizarding XP from Challenges 5 Silver Keys

3rd Quest Rewards

  • 1250 Wizarding XP
  • 75 Brilliant Family XP
  • 10 Restricted Section Books
  • 10 Spell Energy

The Battle for Secrecy Quest 4/4

With the Legends of Hogwarts Foundables boosted, you should find plenty of students facing Boggart Confoundables in need of a Riddikulus cast. Plus Brilliant Young Hermione Granger requires Riddikulus. By asking us to do a Fair spell, really ANY spell you cast will count for that task.

To defeat 10 Foes, hop on the Knight Bus. You usually get 3-4 Foes per Challenge in Ruins IV to Tower III.

Use Brilliant Runestones while doing those Wizarding Challenges to earn the Brilliant Severus Snape’s Doe Patronus Fragments.

Cast 6 Fair Riddikulus Spells 3 Spell Books
Defeat 10 Foes in Wizarding Challenges 3 Spell Books
Collect 2 Brilliant Severus Snape’s Doe Patronus Fragments by Using Brilliant The Battle for Secrecy Runestones 5 Spell Books

4th Quest Rewards

  • 10 Restricted Section Books
  • 50 Gold
  • 5 Defense Against the Dark Arts Books
  • 30 Spell Energy
  • 1 Brilliant Ron Weasley’s Radio Registry Image

The Battle for Secrecy BONUS Assignment!

Make sure you wait until the Bonus Assignment task list appears to place the Brilliant Ron Weasley’s Radio Registry Image you just earned.

You’ll likely have more Images ready to place too, but if not, you’ll get them soon enough if you use another Tonic for Trace Detection to help you find the 15 Legends of Hogwarts Foundables needed in the Bonus Assignment. Just return all of the Brilliant Foundables that appear.

To earn 7,500 Wizarding XP quickly, once again, drink a Brain Elixir. Wait until you’re on the Bonus Assignment to open some Gifts, prioritizing any Extravagant Gifts and others with high Wizarding XP. This task is a smaller amount of XP than usual, and Brain Elixirs are giving triple XP, so this task is easy.

Return 3 Brilliant Battle for Secrecy Foundables 3 Wit-Sharpening Potions
Recover 3 Young Luna Lovegood Fragments 2 Silver Keys
Earn 7,500 Wizarding XP from Any Source 5 Spell Books
Return 3 Young Neville Longbottom Foundables 50 Spell Energy

If you complete the Bonus Assignment, you do NOT need to unlock any Brilliant Portkeys.

Tips to Complete the Brilliant Event

We’re leaving these instructions in the guides to help relatively new players, or those players who may have returned for a final bit of Wizards Unite fun over the holidays!

  • If you are below level 20 in Wizards Unite, you might want to use Exstimulo Potions on Brilliant Young Hermione Granger. Otherwise she will use a lot of Spell Energy to return, because they resist. Brilliant Snatcher should be an Oddity.
  • As a reminder, Part 1 Portkeys will give you Part 1 Rewards anytime you open them, even if you wait to open them during Part 2. Brilliant Portkeys will glow purple on the Map. Be sure to pick up 5 Brilliant Portkeys during the Brilliant Event, even if you don’t open them all during the event.
  • If you are nervous about finding time to walk the Brilliant Portkeys, or are living under a lockdown, you can also earn the necessary Brilliant Fragments by completing the Bonus Assignment.
  • To find the Brilliant Severus Snape’s Doe Patronus, you must do Wizarding Challenges with Brilliant The Battle for Secrecy Runestones. It’s easiest to do this during Quest 4 since it’s a task. To minimize your usage of Spell Energy, stick with Ruins IV-V Chambers. It might take a few extra Wizarding Challenges to get the 3 Fragments you need, but you’ll be able to do so quickly, without expending too many resources. If you’re low on Runestones, try Tower I-II Chambers to improve your odds of earning the required Fragments.
  • If you decide to visit Inns, Fortresses, or Greenhouses during this event, continue to practice social distancing. Check out our previous article on staying safe while playing Wizards Unite.
  • Save your Scrolls and your Restricted Section Books until the end of the event. Then use our guide to spend them wisely! That said, most long-time players have already earned all the necessary Restricted Section Books, with many players working on their third profession already. Restricted Section Books can also be used in SOS Training and Advanced Adversarial Combat. It’s up to you which skills to pursue next!

Brilliant Event Bundles

As usual, you have the option to collect 1 free bundle and to buy 3 premium bundles. Don’t forget the open your free bundle before the event ends! The Bonus Bundle will not be available until the Bonus Assignment is unlocked, so keep that in mind.

First up, the SOS Bundle! This bundle has recently been upgraded in Brilliant Events: 15 Silver Keys and 50 Spell Energy for 450 Gold.

You can buy 10 Silver Keys for 720 Gold. If you only need Silver Keys, the SOS Bundle is still an amazing value. Plus, you get extra Spell Energy!

Next up, the Brilliant Bundle! For 800 Gold, you get:

  • 15 Baruffio’s Brain Elixirs
  • 10 Exstimulo Potions
  • 15 Tonics for Trace Detection
  • 30 Spell Energy

A single Baruffio’s Brain Elixir costs 100 Gold in Diagon Alley. However, if you just need to buy the rare Ingredients, it’s a better deal to spend 20 Gold for 1 Dragon Claw and 12 Gold for 2 Toadstools, use Master Notes in the Cauldron, and then collect the Potion immediately for 62 Gold. So let’s put the value of Brain Elixirs at 94 Gold.

Thus 15 Brain Elixirs are worth 1410 Gold.

So for the Brain Elixirs alone, this bundle is a ridiculously good deal for any players hoping to reach Level 60 before the game ends.

Finally, the Bonus Assignment Bundle! For 2100 Gold, you get:

  • 10 Strong Exstimulo Potions
  • 10 Potent Exstimulo Potions
  • 10 Wit-Sharpening Potions
  • 10 Silver Keys
  • 50 Spell Energy

Because the Ingredients needed to brew regular or Strong Exstimulo Potions are fairly common, it is typically not a good value to purchase them in Diagon Alley. For those who want to know the math, it’s 3 Gold each per Snowdrop, Bitterroot, and Re’em Blood, plus 12 Gold for Abraxan Hair, so 36 Gold per Strong Exstimulo Potion.

If you really need those Strong Potions, 10 could be worth 360 Gold.

(Also, the reason I look at all Ingredients for Strong Exstimulo Potion is because you should only spend Gold on these if you desperately can’t get the Ingredients. In that case, the cost comparison is for the cost of Ingredients).

A single Potent Exstimulo Potion in Diagon Alley costs 75 Gold. However, if you have all of the common Ingredients, it’s a better deal to buy 1 Unicorn Hair for 30 Gold, use Master Notes in the Cauldron, and then collect the Potion immediately for 41 Gold. So let’s put the value of Potent Exstimulo Potions at 71 Gold.

Thus 10 Potent Potions cost 710 Gold.

I don’t recommend spending Gold on Wit-Sharpening Potions now that they’re the sole Gift coming out of Greenhouses. Head to Discord (link below) if you need to find more friends who are still playing the game to exchange Wit-Sharpening Potion Gifts with.

10 Silver Keys cost 720 Gold.

Before Spell Energy, this bundle is worth up to 1790 Gold. Considering what an excellent value the previous bundles are, I’d recommend you purchase either of those if you purchase anything.
