August 2021 Community Day Tasks

Like all recent Community Day events, this event includes a special set of tasks and rewards. These tasks are mostly doable, especially considering you have a FULL day to get them all done. The one challenge will be walking off Portkeys, since Community Day is right after a Portkey-exclusive event, AND not all players can even walk off Portkeys right now.

How many times will you prestige Weasleys’ Wizarding Wheezes? Will you be able to prestige the Hogwarts Gate page too? Share your game goals in the comments!

Of course, if you already have a gold frame, you might decide to skip August’s Community Day.

Task Reward
Use Master Notes 4 Times 1 Strong Exstimulo Potion
Defeat 20 Foes in Wizarding Challenges 1 Wit-Sharpening Potion
Return 25 Lee Jordan Foundables 6 Snowdrop

  • 500 Wizarding XP
  • 30 Spell Energy

Preparing for Wizards Unite Community Day

August’s Community Day is extremely similar to recent Wizards Unite Community Days, just focused on a different Registry page.

Players have incentives to return Foundables AND to complete Wizarding Challenges AND to unlock Portkeys! This makes the event customizable to your personal goals. Here are a few tips to prepare over the next few days.

Portkeys

Do your best to open Portkeys before Community Day starts so you have room to pick up 1km Portkeys. These will contain Weasleys’ Flying Car Fragments, so you want to collect as many as you can!

Of course, Community Day does come immediately after the inaugural 1920s Wizarding World Convergence, so you might be low on Silver Keys for Community Day itself… But at least you’ll have plenty of space to pick up new Portkeys.

If you can safely and legally walk around a park or your neighborhood, that’s a great option to unlock Portkeys. If the weather is bad, try visiting a mall to walk around.

Potions

Stock up on Ingredients for all the Potions that will help you succeed – and save Spell Energy – on Community Day!

These are all the Ingredients you need for Tonic for Trace Detection.

Baneberry Bulbadox Juice Angel’s Trumpet Erumpent Horn

While these Ingredients are still boosted under the “play at home” changes, I’m aware that many players don’t have any Ingredients at home.

If you can safely stop somewhere with a lot of Wizards Unite activity, do so on the way to the grocery store on your next trip.

We’re still a pandemic, so please be careful!

You can also ask your friends to send you Ingredient Gifts and Tonic for Trace Detection Gifts.

To maximize your Tonic benefits, consider unlocking a few helpful nodes in your SOS Training. Each of these will allow your Tonic to reveal additional Traces.

  • Stir Crazy (I,7)
  • Concentrated Concoction (II,25)
  • Trained For This (III,38)

You will also want a few Baruffio’s Brain Elixirs. With boosted Severe Foundables, this is a great opportunity to grind Wizarding XP!

These are the Ingredients you need to brew Baruffio’s Brain Elixir.

Leaping Toadstool Frog Brain Runespoor Eggs Powdered Dragon Claw

To maximize your Brain Elixir benefits, consider unlocking a few helpful nodes in your SOS Training.

These SOS Training Lessons improve Brain Elixir potency, meaning you earn even more Wizarding XP.

  • Start a Movement (I,6)
  • Sous Vide (I,10)
  • Clear Your Mind (II,17)

These SOS Training Lessons lengthen the Potion duration. Each of these adds 5 additional minutes.

  • A Wing and a Flare (I,7)
  • Temp Work (II,19)
  • Bottoms Up (II,22)

You should also consider brewing some Dawdle Draught. Both Proprietor Fred and George are Severe-threat Foundables, so you might want a few Dawdle Draughts on hand to return them!

These are the Ingredients you need for Dawdle Draught.

Valerian Root Sopophorous Bean Butterscotch Hermit Crab Shell

Finally, try to stock up on Exstimulo Potions. These will also be handy for the Severe-threat Foundables.

This quick chart shows which Ingredients you need for the entire Exstimulo family.

Shared between all Exstimulo Potions Bitter Root
Re’em blood
Snowdrop
Additional Exstimulo Potion ingredient Granian Hair
Additional Strong Exstimulo Potion ingredient Abraxan Hair
Additional Potent Exstimulo Potion ingredient Unicorn Hair

Wizarding Challenges

If you need to earn Wonders of the Wizarding World Runestones to help with Community Day, start returning every WotWW Foundable you see. This will help you level up, and then you can collect Runestones.

I advise against doing Wizarding Challenges with a WotWW Runestone in advance of Community Day.

Tips for Enjoying August’s Community Day

This is another Wizards Unite Community Day that will be completely playable at home, but that doesn’t mean you can’t play with other people! If you and your friends are vaccinated, get together to play, especially if you have access to an outdoor location.

Everyone should wear masks, carry hand sanitizer, and avoid shaking hands or hugging. Check out our guide on playing Wizards Unite safely. If you can do this, I highly recommend coordinating Wizarding Challenges at a local Fortress to avoid Knight Bus frustrations.

A Note on the Knight Bus

If you’re taking the Knight Bus to do Wizarding Challenges, then keep in mind that the player who starts the Chamber determines whether or not the players can earn Community Day bonuses. This has been the case for all events with Wizarding Challenges, but I know it can still confuse players.

Wizards Unite Community Day is based on local times. However, when taking the Knight Bus, you can randomly play with witches and wizards around the world. This means that if Community Day is NOT active in your time zone, but you enter a Chamber started by a player where Community Day is active, then you can enjoy the Community Day bonuses.

Once Community Day is active in your area, then you should coordinate with friends to get the Community Day bonuses. Or you’ll want to start the Chamber yourself to guarantee the bonuses.

How to Prestige Weasleys’ Wizarding Wheezes

Because RNG tends to frustrate players, the fact that you can return either Proprietor Fred OR Proprietor George will enable you to complete the task sooner. You’ll need them both if you want to prestige the page, however.

For this reason, save your Trace Charm to use on whichever twin you are in most need of after completing the task.

If it’s safe to do so, stack Dark Detectors at an Inn to try to find the Weasleys’ Flying Car. This can reduce the Portkeys you need to unlock… Which might be necessary for players dealing with the current Portkey bugs. The HPWU team is working to fix Adventure Sync, but don’t expect an update prior to Community Day.

When using Tonic for Trace Detection, focus on just the Wonders of the Wizarding World Traces (and any other Traces that meet your other game goals). This will help you return enough Foundables quickly.

Use a Tonic for Trace Detection while walking around. This will help you find Traces on the Map while also earning distance for your Portkeys.

Do Wizarding Challenges with a WotWW Runestone to earn Open Skiving Snackbox Fragments.

With some hustle, you can prestige your page at least once, if not multiple times!

Remember, Community Day Portkeys will feature the Weasleys’ Flying Car which is on the Hogwarts Gate Registry Page. So while you need to return 5 for the purposes of the task list, you may or may not need them to prestige the page. If you are also in need of Knight Bus Fragments, you might want to save some of your WotWW Runestones until after Community Day when they could return a Knight Bus for you.

Community Day Bundles

As always, the August Community Day includes a free store pack. You also have the option of buying premium store bundles.

SOS Bundle up first! This is identical to what we have seen for multiple Community Days past, so I’m using about the same logic. For 470 Gold, this bundle includes:

  • 2 Tonics for Trace Detection
  • 5 Silver Keys
  • 50 Spell Energy

A single Tonic for Trace Detection in Diagon Alley costs 60 Gold. However, you can also buy 4 for 220 Gold, so the individual value is 55 Gold. The value of 2 Tonics is thus 110 Gold. 50 Spell Energy costs 100 Gold. By breaking down the individual cost of Silver Keys in Diagon Alley, they are worth 72 Gold each, or 360 Gold for 5.

Thus, the value of the SOS Bundle is about 570 Gold if you want discounted Spell Energy, or 470 Gold if you don’t value Spell Energy. If you only need Silver Keys, the value is only about 360 Gold and not worth it.

The Community Day Bundle costs 420 Gold. This includes:

  • 4 Strong Exstimulo Potions
  • 4 Potent Exstimulo Potions
  • 20 Spell Energy
  • 5 Wonders of the Wizarding World Level 4 Runestones

A single Potent Exstimulo Potion in Diagon Alley costs 75 Gold. However, if you have all of the common Ingredients, it’s a better deal to buy 1 Unicorn Hair for 30 Gold, use Master Notes in the Cauldron, and then collect the Potion immediately for 41 Gold. So let’s put the value of Potent Exstimulo Potions at 71 Gold.

Thus 4 Potent Potions are worth 284 Gold.

Using the cost breakdown from Andolov, we can assume that 5 Level 4 Runestones are worth 50 Gold.

Normally I don’t recommend spending Gold on Strong Exstimulo Potions. However, these might be worth it to you if you need to replenish after the 1920’s Event, AND Ingredients are scarce where you live.

In that case, it’s 3 Gold each per Snowdrop, Bitterroot, and Re’em Blood, plus 12 Gold for Abraxan Hair, so 36 Gold per Strong Exstimulo Potion.

Thus 4 Strong Potions might be worth 144 Gold to you.

If you value everything in the bundle, the overall value is 478 Gold, slightly better than the price tag. Personally, I have plenty of WotWW Runestones, plus a decent stock of Strong Exstimulo Potions. I do not plan on buying this bundle.

Final Thoughts on Community Day

If you’re in an area where you can walk safely, set aside a few hours to go outside and walk while playing Wizards Unite. This is a great way to walk off Portkeys and collect new Ingredients. Plant Snowdrop in a Greenhouse if you need it.

Carry an extra battery pack or two, plus charging cables. Need a new battery pack? Brita’s put together a list of the top-rated options on Amazon!

I hope this Wizards Unite Community Day guide has been helpful! Let me know if there’s anything else you’d like to see in future event guides.

Do you have any tips for fellow witches and wizards to enjoy Community Day at home? Will you try to prestige one page or two? Share them in the comments or through our social media platforms!

I’m just going to focus on getting a green star for the Skiving Snackbox. I don’t need any of the other stuff and the rewards aren’t worth it (to me).

So the promise that we would get the RSB for this CD was another lie?

Weren’t the RSB added to the rewards for the Peter Pettigrew Adversary event at the start of August? There were 5 in the reward for completing the bonus.

Where did you see/hear this promise, and where are you coming up short on them (assuming you mean Restricted Section Book(s))? I wouldn’t mind getting more for another tree, but have enough to complete primary (Prof).

Booted from a Forest IV challenge with 2 foes left, couldn’t reconnect. Booted from a 1920 encounter with 1 spell left to finish it, they still haven’t fixed spell energy gift crash….what has happened to this game?? It is becoming unplayable. How about we skip an event and just focus in fixing the bugs??

I needed about 4 more flying cars to prestige Hogwarts Gate to gold, and several skiving snackboxes to finish getting gold on WWW. Easily finished both and placed other images (mostly the twins) a few times over for the Ministry Manuals. Probably actively played for an hour or two. Pretty relaxed time and was able to finish all the event quests for the extra rewards.
