In the mobile game Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, players can experience a completely new type of event and game mechanic. During a 1920s Wizarding World Convergence, players can pick up special 1920s Portkey Portmanteaus, which will appear teal on the Map. These will be the only way to collect the new Foundables.

Thank you Niantic and WB Games for providing Wizards Unite Hub with early information so we can create Wizards Unite guides.

I’ve also put together a video answering Wizards Unite FAQs about the 1920s Wizarding World Convergence.

1920s Wizarding World Convergence Overview

The inaugural 1920s Wizarding World Convergence will be August 18-20, 2021. Going forward, players can expect two 1920s Wizarding World Convergences per month.

This event introduces a new Foundable Family with 3 new Registry pages. The 1920s Wizarding World Registry pages are:

  • Newt’s Menagerie
  • Circus Arcanus
  • Paris Street

Each Registry page will have 5 new Foundables, all exclusive to Portkeys. However, how players collect these Foundables is a little different. For each page, 4 Foundables will be Encounters, and 1 Foundable will be a random reward.

The following infographics introduce the new Registry pages and Foundables.

What is a 1920s Wizarding World Convergence?

1920s Wizarding World Convergence is the official name for a new type of event in Wizards Unite. While the exact nature of these events is subject to change after the inaugural event, the primary element will be boosted 1920s Portkey Portmanteaus on the Map.

How are 1920s Portkey Portmanteaus different than other Portkey Portmanteaus?

With other Portkey Portmanteaus, you enter a location, tap on Wrackspurts, and see the Rewards page. That’s it.

With 1920s Portkey Portmanteaus, you enter a location, tap on Wrackspurts, see the Rewards page, and then enter a 1920s Wizarding World Encounter. This will not be a Trace on the Map–you will go straight into the animation of the Foundable and Confoundable.

In addition, regular Portkey Portmanteaus stay in your Suitcase until you open them.

Any 1920s Portkey Portmanteau without a Key in it will disappear shortly after the 1920s Wizarding World Convergence ends.

What is the distance for the 1920s Portkey Portmanteaus?

All 1920s Portkey Portmanteaus will be just 1km.

Will the 1920s Portkey Portmanteaus be color-coded?

Will events feature just a single 1920s Wizarding World Registry page?

During a 1920s Wizarding World Convergence, players can potentially recover 1920s Foundables from all 3 new Registry pages.

I see the registry pages and whole bottom is lite up! Glitches? Is the adventure sync fixed? How able energy gifts?

The new registry pages just popped up for me! Seems to have glitched the red notification dot though. It’s now showing for exploration, challenges, mysteries, and events. I can’t clear it.

Thank you for the work you put in to things. Another glitch, all registers pages have the red dot and will not clear out. 1ks are easy to clear out if I have cellular turned on. As you said, it will take lots of keys to get the pages to gold, however placing images on gold pages will give a ton of SOS manuals. Some give over 700 and some are over 900 sos manuals! Looking at the math for gold profession lesson achievement, there is a lot of lessons yet to be revealed, so this will help. I think… Read more »

So adventure synch isn’t working for close to half of the player base and a portkey event is released? Also we can walk 1km using a silver key, that cost 90 gold coins, and not even get the image?

I think these new events will be nice. Doesn’t sound like any tasks for the most part. Like a Spotlight event that is special portkey based. The portkeys are 1km normal portkey function and a bonus as an encounter. Win the encounter and you get the bonus items.

Add to that, potential of lots of SOS manuals, new registry pages and different areas to visit.

Is there a time limit on conquering the traces in the portmanteau? Are you guaranteed to collect all of them if you open the port key?

What exactly is the point of the family XP? What does it provide when you get so much since usually we get a trunk with a family runestone? Does it provide something else in the trunk?

Just opened my first 1920s Portkey Portmanteaus. I see the wrackspruts and tap them and nothing happens. It doesn’t register the tap. It just circles around the room I’m in and won’t let me do anything. Lovely graphic, but it doesn’t take me anywhere. Any solutions?

Treasure trunks in the new family pages brings SOS books.

I really like this. I’m already finished with the tasks. Granted the tasks were only to encourage people. Getting the stuff from the portkey and the encounters really adds up. Glad to see this.
