Subscription boxes are a fun way to treat yourself every so often with a small collection of gifts perfectly curated for you and your interests. If you love J.K. Rowling’s wizarding world, then a Harry Potter subscription box is the ideal gift for you! Of course, you can buy a Harry Potter subscription box for someone else… but only if you want to be the best gift-giver ever.

Harry Potter subscription boxes come at multiple price points, making it easier than ever to indulge in an owl post delivery.

Because I want to share the truly ultimate guide to Harry Potter subscription boxes, I’ve included a few ideas that don’t necessarily fit the normal subscription box model. I want you to have as many magical options as possible!

To better address the international audience of Harry Potter fans, I’ve also noted international shipping availability. All of these Harry Potter subscription boxes are based either in the United Kingdom or the United States.

Budget-Friendly Harry Potter Subscription Boxes

These magical subscription boxes cost $30 USD or less per box. International shipping might greatly increase the cost of these Harry Potter subscription boxes, depending on where you live.

Wizarding World Wear (Loot Crate)

If you’re looking for magical apparel at an affordable price, this Harry Potter subscription box is for you! Products are inspired by the wizarding world–they are not officially licensed. Each Wizarding World Wear crate has a different theme, like Dark Arts. When you sign up, you choose your shirt size and your shoe size, although I assume the latter is for socks. Right now they’re sold out of most shirt sizes, with only M and XL still available.

Cost: Starts at $19.99/crate, including shipping

Features: One exclusive apparel item and accessory

Loot Crate ships all over the world. Choose your country along the top of the website, and prices will update.

Salty & Lit (Crate Joy)

Do you love the scent of a good candle while curled up, reading the Harry Potter books? Then Salty & Lit is perfect! Discover hand-poured candles inspired by the wizarding world.

Cost: Starts at $25.00/box, plus shipping

Features: 3 limited-edition 9 oz. glass jar candles, a collectible story card, and 2-3 bookish goodies (bookmarks, art, etc.)

From what I can ascertain playing around with shipping locations, Salty & Lit ships all over the world. However, the shipping fee is a straight $25, even if you live within the United States.

Salty & Lit is also on Etsy, if you want to purchase just a single candle. The Etsy shop ships within the United States and to Europe. If you live within the United States, you can get free shipping on orders above $35.

GeekGear Wizardry Wands Set

This Harry Potter subscription box comes from the Scotland, so the price below is converted from pounds. This is a great box for Harry Potter fans of all ages who are interested in collecting wands. The brand is Unique Wands, and I think they’re exclusive to GeekGear.

Cost: About $19.20 (£14.99)/box, plus shipping

Features: One handcrafted wand in a wand box

This is a great budget-friendly Harry Potter subscription box for fans living in the United Kingdom. While GeekGear ships to multiple countries, international shipping varies considerably and quickly bumps up the overall price. Definitely compare options between the GeekGear website and the Crate Joy website to see if you can save on shipping.

If you want to choose your wand, you can also shop the Unique Wands collection.

GeekGear Wizardry Wearable LITE

This Harry Potter subscription box is another affordable option if you want Harry Potter apparel. You get to select your Hogwarts House when you subscribe, but not all months will contain a Hogwarts t-shirt. This box features fan-made designs. Sizes start at Kids’ XS and go up to Unisex 3XL. Prices are the same regardless of shirt size.

Cost: Starting around $17.99 (£14.99)/box, plus shipping

While GeekGear ships to multiple countries, international shipping varies considerably and quickly bumps up the overall price. Subscription Boxes with Officially Licensed Harry Potter Products

These Harry Potter subscription boxes feature officially licensed products. Products might be from the Harry Potter series, from the Fantastic Beasts franchise, or from the greater wizarding world.

Three of the boxes listed below come from GeekGear, the same company mentioned above. As a reminder, while GeekGear ships to multiple countries, international shipping varies considerably and quickly bumps up the overall price. Definitely compare options between the GeekGear website and the Crate Joy website to see if you can save on shipping.

Unfortunately, Bibbidi Boxes currently only ships to the United States.

Harry Potter Fan Club

This is not exactly a Harry Potter subscription box, but it’s the only true official Harry Potter membership. When you buy a Gold Membership to the Harry Potter Fan Club, you receive a few magical goodies in the mail, plus digital exclusives year-round.

Cost: $74.99/year

Features: A personalised Hogwarts house journal, a collectible Gold Membership enamel badge, a postcard print of J.K. Rowling’s sketch of Hogwarts, access to all 7 Harry Potter eBooks on the Wizarding World app, discounts, and more.

Wizarding World Gold is currently only available in the United States and the United Kingdom. Some of the benefits normally include in-person events, which are currently unavailable. Because Wizarding World Gold has only been available for less than a year, I don’t yet have details on what a renewed subscription includes.

Creative Harry Potter Subscription Boxes

You won’t find much (if any) officially licensed Harry Potter merchandise in these subscription boxes. However, each one is filled with creative merch inspired by the wizarding world! Overall, these Harry Potter subscription boxes have the most consistently positive reviews.

LitJoy Magical Subscription is a new Harry Potter subscription box… sort of. For the last two years, LitJoy had a quarterly subscription box with each box focusing on a different book, with two boxes for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I watched some of those unboxings to get a sense for overall value, and the items were definitely creative, high-quality, and well-received by fans.

The LitJoy website doesn’t give any specific details regarding what to expect in this new Harry Potter subscription box.

LitJoy is based in the United States, but they do ship to many countries across the globe.

The Wizarding Trunk

The Wizarding Trunk has two subscription options. One ships bimonthly (every other month), and the other ships quarterly. Each trunk has a magical theme.

The bimonthly subscription even has an overall theme with a specific theme for each month. Previously the overall theme was all the Harry Potter books. The current overall theme is Magical Lessons.

The Wizarding Trunk makes many of the magical items, but they also work with other artists and small businesses. You do provide your shirt size and your Hogwarts House when you sign up, but there’s no guarantee of apparel or Hogwarts House items. Sizes are S to XXXXL, and the price is the same regardless of size.

Cost: $54.99/trunk (bimonthly) OR

Bimonthly Features: 8-10 items, including an exclusive book cover

Quarterly Features: 9-12 items

If you don’t want to sign up for a subscription, The Wizarding Trunk also sells individual items from past boxes, as well as a small standalone box with 5-7 items. The latter is a great option to test out The Wizarding Trunk to see if you enjoy the surprise selection of Harry Potter items.

The Wizarding Trunk is based in the United States. They do ship internationally.
