Like all recent Community Day events, this event includes a special set of tasks and rewards. These tasks are mostly doable, especially considering you have a FULL day to get them all done. The one challenge will be walking off Portkeys, since Community Day is right after a Portkey-exclusive event, AND not all players can even walk off Portkeys right now.
How many times will you prestige the New York City Street? Will you be able to prestige the Central Park page too? Share your game goals in the comments!
Of course, if you already have a gold frame, you might decide to skip September’s Community Day.
Task | Reward |
Brew 6 Exstimulo Potions (any) | 1 Healing Potion |
Earn 3500 Challenge XP | 1 Silver Key |
Return 25 Occamy Eggs Foundables | 5 Snowdrop |
Return 20 Unicorn Foundables | 6 Unicorn Hair |
Return 10 Newt Scamander Foundables | 1 Potent Exstimulo Potion |
Return 1 Thunderbird Fragment from Portkeys | 2 Strong Exstimulo Potions |
Return 8 Occamy Fragments by Using Magizoology Runestones | 1 Barruffio’s Brain Elixir |
Completion Rewards:
September’s Community Day is extremely similar to recent Wizards Unite Community Days, just focused on two different Registry pages.
Players have incentives to return Foundables AND to complete Wizarding Challenges AND to unlock Portkeys! This makes the event customizable to your personal goals. Here are a few tips to prepare over the next few days.
Do your best to open Portkeys before Community Day starts so you have room to pick up 1km Portkeys. These will contain Thunderbird Fragments, so you want to collect as many as you can… or as many as you need!
Once again, Community Day does come immediately after a 1920s Wizarding World Convergence, so you might be low on Silver Keys for Community Day itself; at least you’ll have plenty of space to pick up new Portkeys.
If you can safely and legally walk around a park or your neighborhood, that’s a great option to unlock Portkeys. If the weather is bad, try visiting a mall to walk around.
Stock up on Ingredients for all the Potions that will help you succeed – and save Spell Energy – on Community Day!
If you don’t get Ingredients at home, stay safe while venturing out. Local parks, city centers, and college campuses usually have great Map activity.
You can also plant Seeds in Greenhouses to collect Baneberry, Leaping Toadstool, Sopophorous Bean, and Snowdrop.
These are all the Ingredients you need for Tonic for Trace Detection.
While these Ingredients are still boosted under the “play at home” changes, not all players can find Ingredients at home, and many players are still under lockdown.
You can ask your friends to send you Ingredient Gifts and Tonic for Trace Detection Gifts.
To maximize your Tonic benefits, consider unlocking a few helpful nodes in your SOS Training. Each of these will allow your Tonic to reveal additional Traces.
You will also want a few Baruffio’s Brain Elixirs. With boosted Severe-threat and Emergency-threat Foundables, this is a great opportunity to grind Wizarding XP!
These are the Ingredients you need to brew Baruffio’s Brain Elixir.
To maximize your Brain Elixir benefits, consider unlocking some helpful nodes in your SOS Training.
These SOS Training Lessons improve Brain Elixir potency, meaning you earn even more Wizarding XP.
These SOS Training Lessons lengthen the Potion duration. Each of these adds 5 additional minutes.
You should also consider brewing some Dawdle Draught, especially if you’re under Level 40. Both the Unicorn and Pickett are Severe-threat Foundables and Newt Scamander is an Emergency-threat Foundable, so Dawdle Draughts will prevent them from fleeing!
These are the Ingredients you need for Dawdle Draught.
Finally, try to stock up on Exstimulo Potions. These will also be handy for the Emergency-threat and Severe-threat Foundables.
This quick chart shows which Ingredients you need for the entire Exstimulo family.
Shared between all Exstimulo Potions
Additional Exstimulo Potion ingredient
Additional Strong Exstimulo Potion ingredient
Additional Potent Exstimulo Potion ingredient |
Be sure to save enough Ingredients to brew Exstimulo Potions on Community Day itself.
If you need to earn Magizoology Runestones to help with Community Day, start returning every Magizoology Foundable you see. This will help you level up, and then you can collect Runestones.
If you are low on these Runestones, I advise against doing Wizarding Challenges with a Magizoology Runestone in advance of Community Day. However, if you need either the Thunderbird or the Murtlap to prestige your pages, you might choose to do Wizarding Challenges before Community Day to earn those Fragments.
This is another Wizards Unite Community Day that will be (mostly) playable at home, but that doesn’t mean you can’t play with other people! If you and your friends are vaccinated, get together to play, especially if you have access to an outdoor location.
Everyone should wear masks, carry hand sanitizer, and avoid shaking hands or hugging. Check out our guide on playing Wizards Unite safely. If you can do this, I highly recommend coordinating Wizarding Challenges at a local Fortress to avoid Knight Bus frustrations.
If you’re taking the Knight Bus to do Wizarding Challenges, then keep in mind that the player who starts the Chamber determines whether or not the players can earn Community Day bonuses. This has been the case for all previous events with Wizarding Challenges, but I know it can still throw off players.
Wizards Unite Community Day is based on local times. However, when taking the Knight Bus, you can randomly play with witches and wizards around the world. This means that if Community Day is NOT active in your time zone, but you enter a Chamber started by a player where Community Day is active, then you can enjoy the Community Day bonuses.
However, the opposite is true as well. If Community Day is active in your time zone, but it is not active for the player who starts the Chamber, you could lose out on Community Day bonuses.
Once Community Day is active in your area, coordinate with friends to get the Community Day bonuses. Or start the Chamber yourself to guarantee the bonuses.
Trace Charms can be placed on any Magizoology Traces with orangish-red or red flares you encounter early on Community Day. As you complete tasks, you may prefer to find out which Foundable it is before using a Trace Charm on it.
If it’s safe to do so, stack Dark Detectors at an Inn to try to find Newt Scamander and the Unicorn. While Dark Detectors do not benefit from event boosts, they still provide a variety of rare Foundables. Plus you might find other Central Park Foundables this way.
There is much discontent about Portkeys currently. The HPWU team is working to fix Adventure Sync, but don’t expect an update prior to Community Day. The fact that we’ve only been asked to open three Portkeys is hopefully doable, even if you need to do a lot of laps inside your home.
When using Tonic for Trace Detection, focus on just the Magizoology Traces (and any other Traces that meet your other game goals). This will help you return enough Foundables quickly.
Use a Tonic for Trace Detection while walking around. This will help you find Traces on the Map while also earning distance for your Portkeys.
Do Wizarding Challenges with a Magizoology Runestones to earn Occamy Fragments.
Because the Demiguise and Pickett are also fairly rare, having them boosted is an exciting addition. However, there are no tasks featuring them, so unless you need the Magizoology Family XP you may not want to expend resources either. It’s a choice players will need to make based on which pages you need to get to gold frames.
With some hustle, you can definitely prestige the New York City Street at least once, if not multiple times, and possibly Central Park too!
As always, the September Community Day includes a free store pack. You also have the option of buying premium store bundles.
SOS Bundle up first! This is identical to what we have seen for multiple Community Days past, so I’m using about the same logic. For 470 Gold, this bundle includes:
A single Tonic for Trace Detection in Diagon Alley costs 60 Gold. However, you can also buy 4 for 220 Gold, so the individual value is 55 Gold. The value of 2 Tonics is thus 110 Gold. 50 Spell Energy costs 100 Gold. By breaking down the individual cost of Silver Keys in Diagon Alley, they are worth 72 Gold each, or 360 Gold for 5.
Thus, the value of the SOS Bundle is about 570 Gold if you want discounted Spell Energy, or 470 Gold if you don’t value Spell Energy. If you only need Silver Keys, the value is only about 360 Gold and not worth it.
The Community Day Bundle costs 420 Gold. This includes:
A single Potent Exstimulo Potion in Diagon Alley costs 75 Gold. However, if you have all of the common Ingredients, it’s a better deal to buy 1 Unicorn Hair for 30 Gold, use Master Notes in the Cauldron, and then collect the Potion immediately for 41 Gold. So let’s put the value of Potent Exstimulo Potions at 71 Gold.
Thus 4 Potent Potions are worth 284 Gold.
Using the cost breakdown from Andolov, we can assume that 5 Level 4 Runestones are worth 50 Gold.
Normally I don’t recommend spending Gold on Strong Exstimulo Potions. However, these might be worth it to you if you need to replenish after the 1920s Event, AND Ingredients are scarce where you live.
In that case, it’s 3 Gold each per Snowdrop, Bitterroot, and Re’em Blood, plus 12 Gold for Abraxan Hair, so 36 Gold per Strong Exstimulo Potion.
Thus 4 Strong Potions might be worth 144 Gold to you.
If you value everything in the bundle, the overall value is 478 Gold, slightly better than the price tag. Personally, I have plenty of Magizoology Runestones, plus a decent stock of Strong Exstimulo Potions. I do not plan on buying this bundle.
If you’re in an area where you can walk safely, set aside a few hours to go outside and walk while playing Wizards Unite. This is a great way to walk off Portkeys and collect new Ingredients. Plant Snowdrop in a Greenhouse if you need it.
Carry an extra battery pack or two, plus charging cables. Need a new battery pack? Brita’s put together a list of the top-rated options on Amazon!
I hope this Wizards Unite Community Day guide has been helpful! Let me know if there’s anything else you’d like to see in future event guides.
Do you have any tips for fellow witches and wizards to enjoy Community Day at home? Will you try to prestige one page or two? Share them in the comments or through our social media platforms!
